Broke my Audible rule with this one..... I only buy performances of books I already love, but Getting Played was released on Audible months before the ebook will be released. I adored the first book in this series, Getting Schooled, in both Kindle and Audible and I knew I'd have to buy Dean's story on whatever format it was available on as soon as possible.... and it was worth breaking my rule for. If you love stories about players who reform bad boy ways to fall in love with women who are quite okay on their own, who have worked hard and overcome personal obstacles to be that way, but are willing to take a pretty big romantic risk then Getting Played is for you. I had to listen to it in one go! Best way to help me finish hours of dreaded laundry, ironing and mending I've ever discovered ! I think I'm in love with Zach Webber's voice.

I challenge anyone to to listen to this audiobook and not fall in love with Adam. If you have ovaries, it's simply impossible to do.

Andi Arndt does a wonderful job of convincing me of Adam's youthful, cynical debauchery, while the mildly clueless rockstar pursues "Peach"/Rowan and figures out his own heart. This is that book I turn to again, and again when the romantic heroes in other books give me too much angst; it calms my heart, and makes me happy. Now it's becoming one of my go to audiobooks for long commutes. I can't recommend it highly enough.

I'm fairly new to audio books; they really are wonderful for long drives, flights, cooking, ironing, or when your eyes are too tired to read any more but you just don't want to give up a story. So far I buy audio performances of books I already love. There is everything Ginger Scott in my Kindle, and a lot of rockstar romances; so this rockstar romance by Ms. Scott is perfect by definition.

It's also performed as a script with male and female dialogue and alternating chapter narration performed by Kai and Wen. The attempt at opposite sex voices in a book with alternating male/female chapter perspective has always bothered me a touch; I realize it's more costly to have two narrators in the recording studio at the same to deliver an old fashioned radio style performance BUT IT'S WONDERFUL!!!! Especially with two such wonderfully talented voice actors to generate the emotional impact of the words I love to read.

I CANNOT PRAISE THIS AUDIOBOOK ENOUGH!

This is my favorite post apocalypse book. For years I had nightmares inspired by Cormac McCarthy's The Road. Miss McGinnis deals with a similarly brutal world but from a uniquely feminine and maternal view point. I would wake at night terrified by McCarthy inspired visions, grab my tablet and fill my head with Mindi's vision instead. It took a couple of years but I no longer suffer apocalyptic nightmares, and I still revisit this book for the beauty and strength in the story, (can't say that about The Road). I am delighted to add this audio book to my library for long commutes and late night listening when I'm too tired to read. This book/audio book is for lovers of kickass heroines.

I adore this book; I reread it constantly. It's a perfect blend of drama, melodrama and romance as Stella matures in life and love of two men, one destined to become the love of her life and her future; the other will lose her because although he loves her intensely, he's unable to align closely enough with her passionate nature. Underpinning all of this is music, and how it triggers memory and carries us back to moments in our lives like nothing else can. If you are a lover of how we come to love who we love, and how music fills our souls while we make this journey, this story is for you.

On top of an addictive book is Ms Erickson's narration, that had me sobbing and smiling at the same time. It's one hell of an actress who can differentiate Stella (our heroine), Reid (starving artist who becomes a rock star), Nate (young publishing entrepreneur and would be fiance) as well as Lexi (best friend/soul sister), Page (Stella's overprotective older sister), a wonderful latina momma , a father who shares and nurtures his daughter's love of music, and band members (each with such perfect emphasis you recognize who they are as Ms Erickson speaks their lines).

I've wanted to leave a review for this book since the first time I read it shortly after it's release but I've always felt slightly overwelmed by doing it justice. This recording clarified for me exactly why I love this story so much. Thank-you Miss Stewart for a story I love, and Miss Erickson for becoming Stella's voice in my head now.

Perfect, even after multiple rereads and listens

I have reread this series so many times and now I enjoy listening to the story of Sean and Anna on my weekly long commutes. This is actually my favorite of the series.

It's funny but I always feel like Jane's remarkable story telling skills probably don't need my review support; but the voice of Sean just hit me a particular way during my recent commute, and I had to support her with this review. If you're a fan of second chance romance, rockstar romance and/or secret baby romance, this is the book for you, with just the right amount of heartbreak, angst and a pinch of melodrama to keep your heart pounding for Anna Baby almost from start to finish. You just cannot help hope that Sean gets his shit together to deserve her!
In her news letter Jayne jokingly mentions that she had to sell a kidney to finance this product. I thought everyone should know her sacrifice is greatly appreciated by this fan!

I've read this book so many times, it truly is one of my favorite romance novels. I had been checking for some time hoping it would be released on audible and squealed the other day when I finally found it. Now I listen to it during long commutes in my car. It just makes me happy. You will cheer for Rose as she heals deep emotional scars inflected by an addict superstar mother, while you want to slap Julian despite also lusting after him. The epilogue in this story is one of my absolute favorites. Thank you L.M. Halloran, for every minute of angst and joy these lovers inspire.
