To be on a starship that's just sustained serious damage in a space battle and lost its thrusters and to find yourself in a totally different galaxy.... You might think that would be cause for panic or, at the very least, despondency, right? Not at all! Gnat maintains optimism, gradually gets his space frigate back in working order, and even finds upsides to what happened.

Good writing, too short
Évalué le: 2021-01-06
my only issue is it was too short! Credits are expensive and im afraid if the next book is shorter i won't be purchasing it. Give us some bang for our buck. I mean we are going on to book 7 reward us with more than a day of enjoyment! Where the writing and story is concerned if you have made it to this book you already know you won't be disappointed, looks like our hero has his work cut out for him in the next few installments!

Training under his benefactor and enrolling in a school made for those who were gifted with powers, Adam ventures around the Outworld to hunt down the demon that turned his life inside out....

I am currently two hours into the book and if I hear "before .... .. could finish his statement" one more time im going to return it for my credit. this is ridiculous how do you not notice that you use the exact same fucking line 16 times in one chapter??!! the world building so far is non existent the author spectacularly fails at painting a picture often leaving you wondering if u missed an entire chapter and when he does the mediocrity and to be frank half-assed attempts had me clenching my jaw. its so frustrating finding books like these where the author actually had a damn good idea but somehow just cannot deliver on selling it. this is no dakota krout or Aleron Kong, nor did I come here expecting it, i have pretty low standards when it comes to litrpg lately as I have spent over 5months on audible stats listening to this genre so I have listened to pretty much all the good ones...so far this book is pushing the limits for the absolute bottom of the barrel. if you are like me and you came here because you saw a litrpg over 20hours and you're about to drop that credit cause you like bang for your buck I urge you to ignore the high ratings which seem to liter the absolute worst of this genre lately. this book will disappoint you unless you are 15yrs old or younger. I will however give credit to the narrator. the voice acting was actually pretty good. Note to author after returning for credit: I read your bio on Amazon clearly you are an amateur, there is nothing wrong with that, I pray to God that English is not your first language that is the only thing that can explain this mess. Keep writing and keep improving but I do not think you are ready to monetize, you say you are an avid reader...it does not show in your writing. I urge you to seek professional help if you are planning on releasing further books.its better to have a 10hour long strongly written novel than a 20hpur long pile of garbage. I wish you luck moving forward but I will never get another one of your books.

Cinder Shade’s life begins on a fateful afternoon at the bottom of a well where he awakens, bruised, battered, and bereft of all memory. His only understanding is a driving imperative to protect those who can’t defend themselves and become a warrior worthy of the name. He discovers within himself a peculiar gift, one in which the codes of combat are made evident and the language of steel is made clear.

this book is incredibly stretched out i didn't think that it was possible to have so little happen in 20hrs. the writer seems to shy away from the most basic aspects that make a novel worth reading and exciting. an example. the mc has lost his memory and it is heavily implied that him and an elf woman he meets were once lovers in another life, the elf woman mentions things like she remembers how her previous lover played the mandolin. our mc plays it on multiple occasions but the writer refuses to capitalize on making the elf woman see the connection.there are loose ends everywhere that he just fails to explain. why is the horse suddenly capable of speech? why are the dwarves so terrified of this mc when they learn who he is? the combat is lack luster and quite frankly BORING you won't even get a true battle till the very end of the book most of the fights are just the mc getting his ass kicked in a very boring point based duel sort of battle...literally everywhere he goes the exact same duel mechanics are used. then vowing to not have it happen again then he practices and gets better over comes one opponent only to have the exact sequence happen again and again and again it is extremely lazy writing frankly I am annoyed.this book had potential to be good and all these reviewers dumping 5 stars are insane. the staggering amount of loose ends and unexplained lore and the fact that this writer seemed to enjoy dragging out a story that could have been put in 12hours has ripped every shred of faith I have in the next book being better. if you enjoy watered down fight scenes and tones on loose ends stacked together in 20hrs this book may be for you. it is not for me.

honestly whats with all those high reviews....some people wouldn't know a good book if it slapped them in the face. the story literally begins with "let me tell you about the first of the four luke, the murderhobo" then proceeds to follow 2 other charracters for atleast 5hours. im forcing myself to listen hoping that things would change but at the 5 hour mark I am seriously not impressed. dk let me down with this one I am returning it and honestly I'm so pissed I'm thinking of returning all books written by him. the long and short of it is u could cut out the first 5hours of this book and I feel like u still wouldn't miss much. its not for me.

Histoire
He was born anew in a world where martial arts were indistinguishable from magic. He only received a neuronet and meaningless desires from his past life. What lies ahead? He dreamed of adventure and freedom, but those dreams were taken away from him. The same way his mother, father, and sister had been taken away. They took the kingdom, they took his own destiny. But he is willing to wage a war, against the whole world if need be, to bring everything back.

Évalué le: 2020-09-30
honestly it really annoys me that u can hear the narrator swallow/lick his lips in a really wet nasty fashion between paragraphs that being said he hardly acknowledged any comas or paused for periods. it really drives me up the wall. the story has a few flaws that can be looked past but coupled with this horrible narrator its hardly worth the time. I'm really annoyed right now.

Histoire
Every year, the empire administers the rite of passage into adulthood. That rite serves to identify those blessed by Aether to become magi. The new magi are shipped to the academy to learn the arts of magic. The academy is a dangerous place; the tournaments held twice each year can cripple or kill the students, and the clans of the empire will go to great lengths to recruit the students they want. Gregory had one dream: to become a magi like the legends of old. Though he was ridiculed by the residents of the village and his unsupportive father, he never wavered from his dream.

It's not easy being king. Especially when you've got an allergy to sunrise and sunset, a fire goddess for a mother-in-law, demonic adversaries, random assassins, and a basement full of insecurities to cope with. Add to that his daughter, the fire priestess/princess; a couple of lightly deranged professional magicians; a whole city full of wizards; and enough squabbling princes to resemble a kindergarten argument. It's enough to make a man want to just go home.

2hours left to go on book 2 and I'm at my breaking point, the author is really taking a piss here. hoping against all odds that the books get better I went ahead and read the reviews on books 3 and 4.....yeee I think its safe to say I wont be getting anymore of those series the author does not tie up a lot of loose ends and I find that the main characters inner monologues take up a significant portion of the book filling it with useless info and self pity. "i dont want to be king" I love long books I feel like if I'm to spend the money on a non physical copy it should atleast be 20+ hours long so I tried really hard to love these books. reality is a bitch. Garon I really hope you read this...you had a brilliant world in your hands...its a shame that you didnt take full advantage of it. thanks but no thanks.
