While the story seems to slow down at times, overall this excellent origins story will not disappoint. Pacing is explained in the epilogue. Fantastic production value and narration for the audio book, did not disappoint.

From minor-hockey phenomenon to Hall of Fame sensation, Wayne Gretzky rewrote the record books, his accomplishments becoming the stuff of legend. Dubbed "The Great One", he is considered by many to be the greatest hockey player who ever lived. No one has seen more of the game than he has - but he has never discussed in depth just what it was he saw.

Wayne has helped diarize much historical content in this book - but I was hoping for more stories from behind the scenes, associated with the players of Wayne's era (the players of my youth).

The John Scott story is the ultimate underdog narrative in sports during 2016 when Scott - in the twilight of his career - went from a joke All-Star fan-voted nominee to scoring two goals and winning the All-Star Game's MVP title. This is his heartwarming story about an average Joe who became a sports superhero overnight. Known as a willing-and-able fighter and bruiser in the league, John Scott was a surprising and tongue-and-cheek nominee for the 2016 NHL All-Star Game.

Low expectations, and the book turned out to be fantastic. Sort of the theme of Scott's life I suppose. The book is inspiring and helps educate the reader about the life of an aspiring professional athlete and their path through the collegiate system to the NHL. This is a path spoken much less about compared to that through the CHL. I appreciated all of the stories told and was super happy with time spent on this one.

Anna Kendrick's autobiographical collection of essays amusingly recounts memorable moments throughout her life, from her middle-class upbringing in New England to the blockbuster movies that have made her one of Hollywood's most popular actresses today. Expanding upon the witty and ironic dispatches for which she is known, Anna Kendrick's essays offer her one-of-a-kind commentary on the absurdities she's experienced on her way to and from the heart of pop culture.

An excellent backstory that helps fill in more of the complex Vader character for Star Wars fans. Great story. Narration performance was ok, would have preferred this in the voice of a cinematic character.

Fans have long wondered what happened to Ahsoka after she left the Jedi Order near the end of the Clone Wars and before she reappeared as the mysterious Rebel operative Fulcrum in Rebels. Finally her story will begin to be told. Following her experiences with the Jedi and the devastation of Order 66, Ahsoka is unsure she can be part of a larger whole ever again. But her desire to fight the evils of the Empire and protect those who need it will lead her right to Bail Organa - and the Rebel Alliance.

Excellent look into the whereabouts and activities of everyone's favourite Clone Wars character Ahsoka following the initial cancellation of the series (which has since been re-activated and will air next year). IMO - all audio books should be narrated by voices we recognize as associated with the characters and stories if they were part of a cinematic universe. Ashley Eckstein is Ahsoka - period, and her voice lends a greater sense of urgency and importance to this audio book. This one is on top of the Star Wars audio book rankings pile for me!
