A girl named Rose is riding her new bike near her home in Deadwood, South Dakota, when she falls through the earth. She wakes up at the bottom of a square hole, its walls glowing with intricate carvings. But the firemen who come to save her peer down upon something even stranger: a little girl in the palm of a giant metal hand.

I was a little hesitant when I heard it was a multicast production. Thought I would have a hard time keeping track of who was who. But each chapter is essentially a conversation between two people, so it's easy to keep track.
In the end this format lended perfectly as an audio book.
Very fun story would recommend. Definitely in the realm of young adult lit tonally. But still really fun.

Exceptional performance by the narrator. Great world building. A bit unbelievable at times but still entertaining.

Homo Deus explores the projects, dreams, and nightmares that will shape the 21st century - from overcoming death to creating artificial life. It asks the fundamental questions: Where do we go from here? And how will we protect this fragile world from our own destructive powers? This is the next stage of evolution. This is Homo Deus.

Very compelling case we are heading to a data concentration never before experienced. With some philosophical musings with how we will deal with this future.
Many interesting thoughts put forth by Harari. Looking forward to future relistening.

The Roman Republic is one of the most breathtaking civilizations in world history. Between roughly 500 BCE to the turn of the millennium, a modest city-state developed an innovative system of government and expanded into far-flung territories across Europe, Northern Africa, and the Middle East. This powerful civilization inspired America's founding fathers, gifted us a blueprint for amazing engineering innovations, left a vital trove of myths, and has inspired the human imagination for 2,000 years.

Not as in depth as the History of Rome podcast. But better recording quality and narration. The 12 hours flew by.
