A great hard fiction story. Probably the best part about the story is that it really looks at the effect of trying to counter climate change (economically, socially, militarily). Despite the complex elements, I encourage people to stick with the story, it pays off in the end.

I picked this up as a Daily Deal and read it on Ryan Holiday's recommendation. I know nothing about surfing but I was sucked into the story and Finnegan's life. Pick it up you will be too. Knowing nothing about surfing is probably a benefit for this book.

I've never been that interested in the fruit trade, but I picked this one up on Ryan Holiday's recommendation and got sucked in from the first page. It's a true story but reads like a novel. Pick up this book.

I try to give every book an honest listen. This one is just the facts and I felt like I was listening to a textbook and it was just not enjoyable at all. I got about eight and half hours in before I gave up.

Great Story - Chinese Pronunciation Needs Work

I loved the story. I lived in Shanghai for 10 years and spent a lot of time on Changle Lu. The author does a great job of describing the street. The only downside is the Narrator's Chinese pronunciation is off - I had check a map to confirm what the road name was as he said it in such a way that sounded like four or five different roads in the area. If you can get past that you'll love the book.

I didn't know a lot about Arthur Ashe and learned a lot. I'm not a tennis fan so preferred the off-court parts of the book.

I listened to this one in about 24-hours. It's got all the elements of a crime thriller and all the details of great journalism.

Well researched, but I feel like I was drowning in information. That made the book hard to follow at times.

This is a great balanced story, definitely worth a listen. A small complaint but the narrator isn't familiar with Canadian English and mispronounced Trois Rivere and toque amongst other words.
