There is no need to review the book itself. By virtue of age there are several references that seem dated to my ears in 2021, yet the story still holds up.

I’ve read the books myself several times, this was the first time listening on audio.

Perfect nostalgia, and an excellent read. There is no need to review the book really, but the Voice of Scott Brick is a perfect addition to my experience of the story.

can’t remember everything, will listen again

That was a great story and I really enjoyed Ray Porters Narration as well.

I’m not going to say much about it, except it did manage to surprise me a few times in where the story went. The single perspective story works great.

I can imagine other tertiary stories and additional prospectives as compelling becoming a part of the universe so for that I am not sure about how I feel about the end being an end.

I wonder if Andy has other point of view short stories in the drafts that might surface to offer more to the story :)

A satisfying retelling with nothing to gain or lose.

No ego, no chest thumping, no bravado, this is a clean retelling of how it all went down, warts and all from one person’s prospective with a great editing team.

I’m sure others included in the story may tell it differently and very dependent on the narrative that they trust for the same period. I hope to hear those words with a similar measure of reflection.

Perhaps as ones is left alone with their thoughts they are granted similar clarity.

Images out of time,

It is amazing how thoughts out of time look different after reflection.

The narration was clear and sounds like he’s sitting across the table sharing war stories.

I think I’ll be listening to this one, in whole or part many more times.

Highly recommend this addition to the universe.

From a fan, having listened to the first three books a couple times, and now having finished book 4 in two days, I am impressed.

The plot feels like a great extension of the stories of the first three books with a twist in the plot that I began to suspect somewhere in the middle, and enjoyed as it developed in the story.

This universe has more stories to tell, I hope Dennis has some outlines rattling around for development. I don’t think we’re done with Bob or the cohort yet.

Ray Porter does a phenomenal job of giving all of the the narrative characters a unique and identifiable voice, even characters who sound similar, are unique enough, that I imagine the man has a three ring binder full of character profile sheets with twitches, attributes and other neurotic identities.

John Green said when he was reviewing this one after Hank sent it to him, that this book was better than the first one.

I fully support that statement, such a well thought out and delivered story, in my opinion. With the follow up interview at the end a perfect addition to the Audible release.

I’m looking forward to more Hank Green books, and the funny thing was that until a few months ago, I was not sure that I was even waiting for the first one.

I guess better late to the game than never showing up.

Now it’s on you Hank,
TikTok where’s your next project taking you?

I’ll pre-order that one on title alone.

Wow!!! That was totally unexpected and totally worth it.

This review is moments after finishing the end credits,

Good job Hank, I feel like that story had all the feels, I can’t wait for the follow up,so please hurry 😀

the narration by Kristen was strong, flowed with the story in a natural way and you brought April to life in a way that made me feel like I was listening to her YouTube Channel.

I am now patiently waiting for more... <Taps toe in corner> 😀

A great book and listen as if Hitch was in my living room telling me stories over a glass of wine or Scotch,

If you’re a fan of Hitchens, this is a must listen.

A much needed and cathartic review of the history of Gord Downey and the Tragically Hip.

Read by the timeless voice of the Red Chair, Strombo himself.

Highly recommend this one if you’re a fan of the Hip, or Canadian music of the last 40 years.

I suspect that I have ADD. I was never diagnosed as a child, but my mother told me that there had been discussions about if I might have it. She did not go for the test because of the stigma that diagnosis carried when I was in school.

Now 30+ years later to discover that all of my challenges in school while well documented, we’re not investigated is a bit of a disappointment to me because I could have at least been able to know what i was going through.

This book have a good explanation of the mechanics of what I recognized as a child and young adult, and also now as an adult. I’ll move forward from this and hunt for further resources to see if I can manage this condition that I have, be it ADD, or not.

If you ever tell yourself that you are stupid, and it’s an automatic reaction when things go wrong, check this book out. It may help...
