For the first 20 minutes I didn’t think I’d enjoy this book. There were a lot of Middle English words and it was hard to follow. It changes to modern English after that and becomes an easy listen.
Nick Offerman does a superb job with the narration; I will be looking for other audio books that he narrates in the future.
This was my first Mark Twain book, and after this it won’t be my last. I really enjoy his style of story telling. It has time travel, knights and royalty, science and the main character is an engineer. What more could you ask for?

I don’t even know where to begin

This is one of very few audiobooks that I would listen to again. It feels like two or three great books combined into one as it covers so much.
I will definitely be getting his next book, Homo Deus.

Great mixture of fact and fiction

Since finishing Pillars of the Earth I kept thinking that the next book in the series can’t possibly be as good. I’m pleased to say that now I’ve been wrong for the second time.
At the end of this book the author lists which characters in the book are real historical figures, and the list is extensive. He incorporates these figures with the the ones he’s created to make a very interesting read (or listen).

I found the first half of this book awkward at certain points. It was as if I walked into a room with a group of people playing D&D that were way too into it. I’m not sure how else to describe it. This is coming from someone who doesn’t play those kind of games, so weight my comment appropriately.
The second half was excellent, and Wil Wheaton did a great job reading it. Overall I enjoyed it and would recommend.
