Description

From the number one New York Times best-selling author of You Are a Badass, an in-depth guide to making the kind of money you've only ever dreamed of.

You Are a Badass at Making Money is a refreshingly frank and entertaining step-by-step guide to overcoming the fears and stumbling blocks that have kept financial success out of reach and to giving yourself the permission to make the kind of money you've never made before. Drawing on her own experience of transforming herself - over just a few years - from a woman with tumbleweeds blowing through her bank account, subsisting solely on Taco Bell, to a woman who travels the world and stays in five-star luxury hotels, Jen knows all too well the layers of BS one can get wrapped up in when it comes to money as well as what it takes to dig your way out. You Are a Badass at Making Money goes in depth on how powerful thoughts shape our income potential and the ways in which our bank accounts are mirrors for our bugaboos about money. Written with the same inimitable sass and blunt practicality that made You Are a Badass an indomitable best seller, You Are a Badass at Making Money combines hilarious personal essays with life-changing bite-size concepts that anyone can employ to unlock earning potential and get real results.

Loved It

Reminded me a lot of Big Magic. I hesitated on the chapter about Faith but it wasn't about "him"... so I'm glad I didn't skip it.

Badass 2.0

While I really enjoyed Jen's first Badass book, this was disappointing in that it provided no new insights or information. There were even anecdotes recycled from the first book. (The little boy on the airplane comes to mind. There were no other stories about someone standing their ground that could've been inserted?)
This new work was also remarkably short on hard, cold facts and figures -- a little incongruous in a book about money. Jen's presentation is engaging, as always, but this read like a second book that was patched together in a hurry at a publisher's request. I can almost hear the agent urging her to strike while the iron is hot...
The takeaways were almost identical to the first Badass book: hire a coach, spend money to increase your skill set, lose your bad habits, make a vision board, meditate, have a money mantra, etc.
Overall, this was a letdown to me as someone familiar with her work. However, it did prove that Jen is a Badass at making money because she got mine.

Just think hard about money, and praise it

Just think hard about money, and praise it. Show your desire, and you'll attract the money. Now I save you one credit. You are welcome.

This book have fundamentally shifted my perception of money

I read this book as a female business owner at 28, currently working on understanding growth strategies (like obtaining/holding on to those dollars) to scale my business sustainably.
I had already read Sincero's previous book, 'You Are A Badass" and was quite familiar with the New Age-y jargon that would be used throughout this book.
Heads up, this does reference the Law of Attraction and spiritual faith quite a bit. While this resonates with a lot of people including myself, there is a chance that it might be offputting to those who don't believe or understand this concept yet. If you're on the fence about the LOA, I would recommend "The Answer" by John Asaraaf. The first few chapters are packed with scientific backing on this which might help in wrapping your head around all of it.

By utilizing the practices found in this book (letting go of deep rooted misconceptions of money, meditating and focusing on the feelings of already having achieved my goals) this book has certainly helped shift my faith in scaling my business and take me back to that "honeymoon phase" where I had no limits on what I could achieve in starting my business.

In short, this book requires faith, a willingness to let go of preconceived notions of money and people who have a lot of it, and a basic understand of how the LOA works.

Do not buy, not really any advice for making money

I'm sure Jen meant well when writing this, but honestly this book wasn't what I thought it would be. To put it nicely it's a book about Jen's confidence in her own money making ability. It reminded me of the episode of Family Guy where Brian writes "Wish it. Want it. Do it." The part that threw me off was when Jen attributes her money making ability to her faith in herself, needing $75,000 for a specific life coach. She has no idea how she'll get all that money... ((Spoiler)) She remembered she had some stocks in a certain tech company, which happened to be worth exactly $75,000. Her big secret to success, her 'make or break' moment, was literally figuring out she already had the money. That being said it's obvious Jen is a talented writer, but this book is not a good book in my opinion.

Equally Badass

I liked the final few chapters the best. She brings up some points that you've already heard in some fashion if you follow self-helpery, but lands them in a different way. Jen did just as awesome with this one as she did with her first one. Loved it!

God I LOVE this chicks books!!

I swear its incrediable how Jen totally pumps me up and leaves me feeling like theres NOTHING i cant accomplish! I love her style of sharing her advice and love her honesty. I dont often write full reviews except when the book is SO freakin awesome that i must say 'buy this book people'! Its a book you can listen to over and over for insight and motivation. She incorporates just enough cussing in her books to make her point clear lol. Her 'realness' is one of the 10,000 things i adore about her! I am so grateful for her work....I enjoyed every minute of these few hours that flew by much too fast listening to this book and def was $$ well spent. Thank YOU Jen Sincero for writing and narrating this amazing book! YOU rock!! 😘

Love, Love, Love this Badass Woman!

This is the missing piece that connects the two halves of what has, up to now, seemed like a puzzle.
Love the irreverent delivery and down-to-earth style of the authors writing.
I am going to make the study and implementation of these two books a family project. Here's to the formation of one Badass Tribe! : )
