Awareness awakens you to the truth that you possess everything you need right now to be happy and fulfilled. Happiness is your natural state. You don't need to do anything to acquire it; you only need to drop something. This audiobook shows you what that is. There is not a single person who ever gave time to being aware who’s quality of life didn't change. You see life differently because you are different. You respond to people and situations differently. You see things you have never seen before. Beautiful things. You're much more energetic, much more alive.

A Gallup study found that 50 percent of resigning employees did so "to get away from their manager". The ones who don't quit become disengaged, creating a negative work environment costing US companies billions in lost productivity, each year. Leaders in the 21st century need to understand that technical skills are not enough to be an effective manager. They need to able to demonstrate tactical empathy to create a more productive environment.

Spread through the public in the form of popular stories, ideas can go viral and move markets - whether it's the belief that tech stocks can only go up or that housing prices never fall. Whether true or false, stories like these - transmitted by word of mouth, by the news media, and increasingly by social media - drive the economy by driving our decisions about how and where to invest, how much to spend and save, and more. But despite the obvious importance of such stories, most economists have paid little attention to them. Narrative Economics sets out to change that.

With 10 percent of the Western world’s children suspected of having Attention Deficit Disorder, or ADHD, and a growing number of adults self-diagnosing after decades of struggle, the question must be raised: How could Nature make such a “mistake”? In this updated edition of his groundbreaking classic, Thom Hartmann explains that people with ADHD are not abnormal, disordered, or dysfunctional, but simply “hunters in a farmer’s world.”

Description
Our mistakes make us poorer and less healthy; we often make bad decisions involving education, personal finance, health care, mortgages and credit cards, the family, and even the planet itself.
Thaler and Sunstein invite us to enter an alternative world, one that takes our humanness as a given. They show that by knowing how people think, we can design choice environments that make it easier for people to choose what is best for themselves, their families, and their society.
Using colorful examples from the most important aspects of life, Thaler and Sunstein demonstrate how thoughtful "choice architecture" can be established to nudge us in beneficial directions without restricting freedom of choice. Nudge offers a unique new take - from neither the left nor the right - on many hot-button issues, for individuals and governments alike. This is one of the most engaging and provocative audiobooks to come along in many years.
Included in this recording are a bonus chapter and a Postscript that was added in the paperback edition.

Fascinating and informative!
The premise is interesting, the range of subjects is satisfying, and the wit of the authors comes through. Nudge is an easy listen, but also quite stimulating. it has me thinking about all the ways my own behaviour is directed by "choice architecture", and how I may be unknowingly influencing people's choices myself. If you're on a "books by economists" kick like I am then this will be a good listen.

Not fresh if you're already into behavioral econ.
I read this book after Thaler's other book, "misbehaving", and also other well known books in area of behavioral economics such as "predictably irrational", "thinking, fast and slow", and to some extent "freakonomics" serie. What I found is frequent repetition of concepts, inter-referencing, and even exact same examples and researches. So you'll enjoy the first book you pick very much, and will find the later books less and less fresh.

First few chapters are really great.
The book is of course well-written and the first few chapters were excellent. I guess I didn't know, however, that the examples would mostly about financial tools -- with other little rants about gay marriage scattered throughout. Overall, it read more of a political manifesto from the 2000's then anything I would be interested in. That said, I think the author's really do hope that libertarian paternalism could be a bridge for America's two party system. Unfortunately, it's hard to see how this might ever be possible given the state of current affairs.

Full of Rants
This book is pretty much just the authors explaining how they feel the US government should change policies and laws. Has very little around human behaviour and anything they briefly talk about before starting the next rant is covered in other books such as “think fast and slow”. Would not recommend this book, especially if you do not live in the US.
