Complete Tales and Poems Incomplete

It would be so helpful if the publisher would add the list of names of the pieces in each chapter to the file you see on your device when listening to it. The chapters are numbered only and not handily navigable.

Aside from that, the reading could be improved. The first chapter or so is read in such a staccato way that it's hard to listen to... almost a William Shatner 'delay' effect. Once the reader finds his flow, things improve, but he seems to apply a strange additional accent to his voice when reading the French passages that make them very difficult for those who know French to tell what he's saying. Other than those issues, after awhile I found I enjoyed his spirited reading style that matches the content of the work.

Despite these hangups, it is still very useful to have this resource available for those learning about Poe. Thank you!

French words are badly pronounced

The reading is ok when in English. But when it's French words or phrases... It's horrible! I find it hard to understand them even if my first language is French. It's that bad!

Possibly the worst French I have ever heard.

Poe's work is not in question . I challenge any French speaker to understand the reader.

First review - so bad I had to let you know.

There are two major problems with this work.

First, pronunciation. The narrator does not know how to pronounce the French text, (I assume the same for the Latin, but since I've never studied Latin I'm not in a position to judge that). Even though I speak French I can't make out what he is saying, and no English translation is provided, which would be an easy solution. The narrator also doesn't know how to pronounce certain of the English words. It's pretty clear that he is reading some of the texts for the first time, and struggles with both pronunciation and emphasis.

Second, structure. The titles of the works are not given as Chapter titles. There is no TOC. The titles are not even (at least from what I've been able to make out) given at the beginning of each work/chapter.

I like Poe. I enjoyed reading his fiction and poetry and even an essay or two. I'm about 3 hours into this and I won't be able to make it to the end. I wouldn't be able to tell you what tales I've heard at this point.

Written in English, read in ???

I cannot finish the book as read. I know English, and have taught English as a Second Language, and would fail this reader.
