Publisher's Summary

New York Times best seller

Following Star Wars: Aftermath and Star Wars: Life Debt, Chuck Wendig delivers the exhilarating conclusion to the New York Times best-selling trilogy set in the years between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens.

Every end is a new beginning.

As the final showdown between the New Republic and the Empire draws near, all eyes turn to a once-isolated planet: Jakku.

The Battle of Endor shattered the Empire, scattering its remaining forces across the galaxy. But the months following the Rebellion’s victory have not been easy. The fledgling New Republic has suffered a devastating attack from the Imperial remnant, forcing the new democracy to escalate its hunt for the hidden enemy. For her role in the deadly ambush, Grand Admiral Rae Sloane is the most wanted Imperial war criminal - and onetime rebel pilot Norra Wexley, back in service at Leia’s urgent request, is leading the hunt. But more than just loyalty to the New Republic drives Norra forward: Her husband was turned into a murderous pawn in Sloane’s assassination plot, and now she wants vengeance as much as justice.

Sloane, too, is on a furious quest: pursuing the treacherous Gallius Rax to the barren planet Jakku. As the true mastermind behind the Empire’s devastating attack, Rax has led the Empire to its defining moment. The cunning strategist has gathered the powerful remnants of the Empire’s war machine, preparing to execute the late Emperor Palpatine’s final plan. As the Imperial fleet orbits Jakku, an armada of Republic fighters closes in to finish what began at Endor. Norra and her crew soar into the heart of an apocalyptic clash that will leave land and sky alike scorched. And the future of the galaxy will finally be decided.

Marc Thompson tries his best at this mess.

Thompson's performance is the only thing that makes this story digestible. I tried but could not stomach this book in physical format. Wendig's regurgitation of the same descriptive words over and over again is nauseating. The amount of times he begins a sentence with The makes me want to vomit. Thrown up Alpha-gettis would have more original and luring sentence structure.

Best of the 3 books

More action pack then the two previous books. Only thing missing is what happened to Luke Skywalker during the events of the three books

Great ending to the story

This was a great ending to the story and I liked how they left it open to tyr possibility of more in the future. A must own here.

LOVED IT

I found this book an awesome conclusion to this trilogy. this is one serious that I had skipped pass for a number of years, and now I definitely regret my decision a lot of stuff happening in this series that is just great to hear play out.

Very well done.

I will always struggle with the fact that Hans son was named Ben and not Jacen. This book was well done on Audible. I think its the best way to read / listen to this trilogy as it brings together many story lines into one. Good job ?

great performance terrible story

Marc Thompson is brilliant as always, but as for the story and character development I was quite disappointed in comparison to other star wars novels. A decent story set up for the rise of the first order.

easy listen

#Audible1 easy listen, complex story line while maintaining easy listing flow and character development.
recommend to listen to the books before this to have a larger scope of what is happening and why but not necessary.

8/10 some better editing needed for pauses

Meh

The narrator was way too corny in his presentation and over the top when trying to display emotions. On the other hand he has some good voices.

Excellent and outstanding series

Although this 3rd book did drag on a bit compared to the previous two, I enjoyed following these characters.

Marc Thompson is as amazing as ever!
He stretched his voice even more for this title!!! Wow!
