Description

Joe Dispenza, DC, has spent decades studying the human mind - how it works, how it stores information, and why it perpetuates the same behavioral patterns over and over. In the acclaimed film What the Bleep Do We Know!?, he began to explain how the brain evolves - by learning new skills, developing the ability to concentrate in the midst of chaos, and even healing the body and the psyche. Evolve Your Brain presents this information in depth, while helping you take control of your mind, explaining how thoughts can create chemical reactions that keep you addicted to patterns and feelings - including ones that make you unhappy. And when you know how these bad habits are created, it's possible to not only break these patterns, but also reprogram and evolve your brain, so that new, positive, and beneficial habits can take over.

Interesting but moderately accessible

Although very interesting and well narrated, it goes a bit deep into biology. I found it hard to stay focused when the author lingered at cellular level and beyond. May be more accessible to readers with some kind of basic scientific/academic background. Only in small doses for me.

How the brain works!

This book is the greatest source of knowledge about the humain brain out there so far. Explain how the chemical imbalance of your brain might be the sources of most of our problems. Long but it open some many new possibilities.

Pour les gens qui ont soif d'informations sur le cerveau... wow!

Genius!!!

This book intertwines science and spirit. Sean Runnette has done an amazing job at narrating-from start to finish!
Joe Dispenza is a Genius. He has given humanity a gift in writing "Evolve Your Brain" This is the first audiobook of his that I've listened to; and I look forward to hearing all of them!
Within the past few months I have watched his teachings via internet. I'll be purchasing his hard copy books as well when I have that opportunity.
I have been on a healing path for many years and just have a knowing his wisdom will help me be more creative. Ultimately, I will re-invent myself and live a great life!

A very interesting material about brain, emotions

The book discussed the latest brain research results based on quantum physics. There are a lot of useful collaborative materials, examples that confirm the human brain abilities to develop itself in any direction and even to change itself completely. And the brain activity is able to change our genes, body, life and everything around us.
There are described the ways how to use neuroplasticity to teach the brain to do amazing things according to our wishes and purposes.
The book would be very interesting for you if you want to know how to be the best of yourself!

Please listen to this with a critical ear

The author has some good points, but he also suggests that techniques in mindfulness can reverse terminal illness and serious injury, and I feel some of these ideas to be dangerous.

how can this book even be in the science section

This book is pseudoscience to say the least. Read this book if you want to die from horrible medical advice.
if you suffer a major injury go to the doctor energy can't heal you.

Love the content, disappointed in attitude.

I loved the mind opening concepts discussed in this book. I dont know if the author intended it, but the narrator began to ruin it with the over-emphasis on the caricature of how an educated, philosophical mind would speak at about the 3 hour mark. Then there was the feeling that the book was an elaborate advertisement.

Great message, long book

There is an excellent message to this book and the author goes in to explicit detail regarding how the brain works and functions. Many may find it slow and hard work to get through a couple chapters but I assure you it is well worth the money. You will be better for having read this book and be armed with some great knowledge

It's not a easy reading (listening)

Sometimes too much information, too much anatomy. Struggling to finish. But definitely it's explained all in detail.

Edit, edit, edit.

The book explores some very interesting and inspiring aspects of mind, brain and neuroplasticity. It's based on newest research on the field. Unfortunately, the author seems to draw a bunch of far reaching conclusions that aren't quite within the laws of cause and effect, and it is often hard to decipher whether what is written is based on research or author's own pseudo-religious beliefs.

My biggest peeve, though, is the structure and writing of the book. The author constantly repeats himself and the topics come in somewhat haphazard fashion. Language used is often hard and stuffed with technical words and lacks punctuality. This is exacerbated by the placid reader who lacks good emphasis and tonality. I found myself zoning of constantly because of these short comings. In short, the book needs a good editor to make it in to an enjoyable listen.

loved the content but not the narrator

I much preferred the narrator of Dr Joe's two later books. Maybe I would have enjoyed it more if I had listened to this one first. The content was great - it is more of the science behind changing your thought patterns and how the brain works. Of his three books, this was my least favorite, although I still think it has some incredible information in it and is definitely worth the investment.

Mostly basic biology and "Practice makes perfect"

I'm on chapter 9 of what appears to be the same free basic ideas being paraphrased paragraph after paragraph.

If you have a high School level understanding of the brain, the first 9 chapters can be skipped.

When does this start book give me something I can use?

I get it. I'm a creature of habit. How do I use that knowledge to my advantage?

Get to the point, please. -- the point is apparently, "Practice Makes Perfect".

Dr. Joe is a beast as usual

This book is science heavy with minimal practices. If you want the practices and don't mind skipping the science then read his third book. I recommend his workshops as well!

It all makes sense now

Brain science is not new to me. So when Dispenza dropped the dendrites and synapse themes, I thought, where are you taking us. Now I see how his outlook matches contemporary sciences. But in a way that empowers us to change the very nature of who we are. Not just psychologically, but physically. Not temporarily, permanently. If you like the status quo, don't listen to this book.

Tremnously enlightening

This audiobook was both informative and enlightening in regards to concepts that I was unaware of. It also confirmed elements in which I have thought. It is clear that the information could not have been done in less time. I look forward to listening multiple times to absorb and to implement many of the suggestions and concepts presented. Excellent, excellent material.
