Is it possible to heal by thought alone - without drugs or surgery? The truth is that it happens more often than you might expect. In You Are the Placebo, Dr. Joe Dispenza shares numerous documented cases of those who reversed cancer, heart disease, depression, crippling arthritis, and even the tremors of Parkinson’s disease by believing in a placebo. Similarly, Dr. Joe tells of how others have gotten sick and even died the victims of a hex or voodoo curse - or after being misdiagnosed with a fatal illness.

In this grand poetic vision of the universe, Lawrence Krauss tells the dramatic story of the discovery of the hidden world that underlies reality - and our place within it. Reality is not what you think or sense - it’s weird, wild, and counterintuitive, and its inner workings seem at least as implausible as the idea that something can come from nothing. With his trademark wit and accessible style, Krauss leads us to realms so small that they are invisible to microscopes, to the birth and rebirth of light, and into the natural forces that govern our existence.

Description
Joe Dispenza, DC, has spent decades studying the human mind - how it works, how it stores information, and why it perpetuates the same behavioral patterns over and over. In the acclaimed film What the Bleep Do We Know!?, he began to explain how the brain evolves - by learning new skills, developing the ability to concentrate in the midst of chaos, and even healing the body and the psyche. Evolve Your Brain presents this information in depth, while helping you take control of your mind, explaining how thoughts can create chemical reactions that keep you addicted to patterns and feelings - including ones that make you unhappy. And when you know how these bad habits are created, it's possible to not only break these patterns, but also reprogram and evolve your brain, so that new, positive, and beneficial habits can take over.

Interesting but moderately accessible
Although very interesting and well narrated, it goes a bit deep into biology. I found it hard to stay focused when the author lingered at cellular level and beyond. May be more accessible to readers with some kind of basic scientific/academic background. Only in small doses for me.

Author has little knowledge of the topic
The only similarity between this book and science is the words they use.The frequency of factual errors in the actual content was such that I had no faith in the author past the 2nd hour. If this book has helped you, that is wonderful and please don't let this review change your thoughts about this book, but if you are like me, have even a slight amount of knowledge in the fields of physics, psychology or biology, and need to trust an author to get any benefit out of their reccomendations, this book is not for you.
Joe is not a neuroscientist by training, he is a chiropractor, and it shows in the content of the book. While I am sure he is knowledgeable about many things, the functioning of the brain is not one of them.

A very interesting material about brain, emotions
The book discussed the latest brain research results based on quantum physics. There are a lot of useful collaborative materials, examples that confirm the human brain abilities to develop itself in any direction and even to change itself completely. And the brain activity is able to change our genes, body, life and everything around us.
There are described the ways how to use neuroplasticity to teach the brain to do amazing things according to our wishes and purposes.
The book would be very interesting for you if you want to know how to be the best of yourself!

Fascinating
Whoever doesn't like this book is stuck in old science and still believes the speed of light is what we've always been taught.
It's an uplifing book just like all of Joe Dispenza's works - leaves a person with no excuses - nowhere to hide - we are the creators of our own lives, there is no one or anything we can blame. Not only that but he makes it crystal clear that anyone can change their lives - I love the chapter called The Four Pillars of Healing - many fascinating facts in that chapter that make you realize there absolutely is a higher Source, one way beyond what any human is capable, but that force is within each one of us, which is why we are creators. Thoughts matter, because thoughts are matter - they create chemicals which are matter.
Can't get enough of Joe.

Too long for the message
The amount of real science and hard evidence is hard to separate from his personal stories and one-off examples. The summary of the science was excessive and repetitive.
No instruction's about how to change self, just some assumptions. Not worth the credit.
If you want to learn how to change yourself the best of these books I have ever read is 'Your Brain at Work' by David Rock.

Mostly basic biology and "Practice makes perfect"
I'm on chapter 9 of what appears to be the same free basic ideas being paraphrased paragraph after paragraph.
If you have a high School level understanding of the brain, the first 9 chapters can be skipped.
When does this start book give me something I can use?
I get it. I'm a creature of habit. How do I use that knowledge to my advantage?
Get to the point, please. -- the point is apparently, "Practice Makes Perfect".

Edit, edit, edit.
The book explores some very interesting and inspiring aspects of mind, brain and neuroplasticity. It's based on newest research on the field. Unfortunately, the author seems to draw a bunch of far reaching conclusions that aren't quite within the laws of cause and effect, and it is often hard to decipher whether what is written is based on research or author's own pseudo-religious beliefs.
My biggest peeve, though, is the structure and writing of the book. The author constantly repeats himself and the topics come in somewhat haphazard fashion. Language used is often hard and stuffed with technical words and lacks punctuality. This is exacerbated by the placid reader who lacks good emphasis and tonality. I found myself zoning of constantly because of these short comings. In short, the book needs a good editor to make it in to an enjoyable listen.

loved the content but not the narrator
I much preferred the narrator of Dr Joe's two later books. Maybe I would have enjoyed it more if I had listened to this one first. The content was great - it is more of the science behind changing your thought patterns and how the brain works. Of his three books, this was my least favorite, although I still think it has some incredible information in it and is definitely worth the investment.

A bunch of crap by a guy that got lucky
A guy had a lucky recover from accident. Statistically that happens to some people!
Now he monetizes on this recovery and calling himself a doctor. From listening a bit to what he had to say it was clear that it's pseudoscience, I did some research and you can search yourself about the author and see in the "reputable" affiliations of the author such as RSE which is considered by many a cult.
