Publisher's Summary

Geek girl Elle Wittimer lives and breathes Starfield, the classic science-fiction series she grew up watching with her late father. So when she sees a cosplay contest for a new Starfield movie, she has to enter. The prize? An invitation to the ExcelsiCon Cosplay Ball and a meet-and-greet with the actor slated to play Federation Prince Carmindor in the reboot. With savings from her gig at the Magic Pumpkin food truck and her dad's old costume, Elle's determined to win - unless her stepsisters get there first.

Teen actor Darien Freeman used to live for cons - before he was famous. Now they're nothing but autographs and awkward meet-and-greets. Playing Carmindor is all he has ever wanted, but Starfield fandom has written him off as just another dumb heartthrob. As ExcelsiCon draws near, Darien feels more and more like a fake - until he meets a girl who shows him otherwise. But when she disappears at midnight, will he ever be able to find her again?

Part-romance, part-love letter to nerd culture, and all totally adorbs, Geekerella is a fairy tale for anyone who believes in the magic of fandom.

Cute Retelling

I thought this was a really cute Retelling of Cinderella that included some fangirl and geek moments. I thought it was a cute take on a story we've seen a thousand times before but I still would have liked a bit more from it!

loved this take.

I loved the take on Cinderella that this book did. it's so relevant to culture right now and to a lot of women/girls. The characters where so well done and rounded. There where a few moments that I will admit I teared up for sure. I was wonderful thinking about the story of Cinderella and wondering how they could change it so that it would fit in this world.if I did have a complaint about this audio book it would be I dont think they had the right voice actor for Darien, he sounded much older then the character, worked for the voice of mark but kinda threw me for the first couple chapters. nothing against the him he did a wonderful job but just a preference I guess. all around though wonderful listen!

Cinderella Meets Comicon!

Well written, could not put the book down! Loved both how all my childhood references were mentioned into this book. The characters are very relatable! Can't wait to read others by this author!

Wow

FINALLY a Cinderella Retelling where it focuses on those of us who live and breathe Fandoms. I loved the fact it was narrated by both a male and a female because it just worked so well.

Easy listening with a few editing issues

There were editing issues where occasionally a line was repeated, it disrupted the flow. But otherwise the story was a pleasant listen. It was kid appropriate for car rides.

I want to be there

This is one of my favourite Cinderella retelling. I knew her step sister was going to tear apart her dress, but it was still so surprising.

The performance is not the best. Some parts were repeated, but it doesn’t take away from the story.

Sage is my favourite character.
My favourite part of the story is everything about the fandom. I love a tv show and the fandom is mostly dead. This made me so excited to find others with the same interest in my show

Great

This is the first time I ever read/listened to this book, so I was a bit surprised. I loved the story telling, it really made me feel for the characters. I think I even had tears in my eyes at certain points. There was just one part that made me kind of giggle, the male narrator, Tristan Morris, was a little humourous when he was voicing Chloe, like he just really bad in that specific accent, it was when Chloe harasses Elle at the convention. His accent got better though, as the story progressed. A very enjoyable read/listen. Would definitely recommend to a friend

Really good listen

I really liked this book! One of the narrators repeated a couple sentences, but the voices were very easy to get used to. The story was easy to follow too. I really enjoyed this book!

Super cute Cinderella retelling!

Love the characters and story. Stuck closer to the original than expected. Would have liked a little more of the characters time to be together and a little more romance. Overall great book. Couldn't stop listening!
