Publisher's Summary

From Wall Street Journal best-selling author Aleron Kong comes Awakening, book one of God's Eye, the long-awaited second series of the Labyrinth Universe!

Discover a unique new world seen from the perspective of a newly born god in a breathtaking saga of divine proportions.

Telos is a world at the center of a Universe. A bright jewel wrapped in a Lattice of realities. It is a world that gods and demons call home at the beginning of a new age. Remy is a newly risen deity, struggling to survive in a Battle Royale where the consequences are worse than death and last longer than damnation.

He will find that he cannot live with his tribe of worshippers. Their strength is his, and his is theirs. Other tribes want nothing more than to feast upon their flesh and consume their power. It is a deadly race of technology and power, faith and corruption, of commoners and legends.

Gods of ancient pantheons and demons of forbidden nightmares compete in a timeless game where the stakes are the souls of every living being. These old forces will come to fear a newly risen god.

His name will become a curse on their lips. His name will be a chant in the mouths of the faithful. His name will be carved in time.

Zero Fell, Zero Fell, ZERO FELL!

My friends, this book is five years in the making. Set in the same Universe as The Land, I hope you enjoy this new world with new magics. New friends to cheer for and new enemies to hate.

As always, I wish you a wonderful life!

Peace, love, and the perfect margarita,
Aleron Kong

Very Very Slow Story Progression

I’m all for world building and whatnot, but 6 and a half hours in and our MC hasn’t done anything himself.. I understand that world building takes time, but somehow seconds are dragged out into what feels like hours, our Mc jumped out of a tree, it felt like it took 30+ minutes to finally get to the ground with all the explanations that were going on throughout the fall, breaking any sense of immersion I had. I have to drop it here, I enjoy a good slow burn, but this is like watching paint dry..

Disappointed but still good

I have read all of the chaos seeds series and I expected more character dynamic in this series, it just consisted of him monologing to himself, there are almost no other characters that come up in this story. The system that he created is pretty cool and I love that but everything just felt dry because of the main character.

Generally a good book.

I was very skeptical about picking up this book I was a huge fan of The Land, and while it wasn't the next in the serious I decided to give it a shot.

The pacing seems off, we quickly get thrown into things to have the book slow down and examine the environment or other creatures in great detail. Some of this could have been left out, I don't really think the reader needs to know how aroused.. things... get.

The action is well thought out and detailed. Sometimes too detailed. Heh. Plink.

It suffers from a lot of repetition. We cover some details, then cover them again but slightly different. It could be the words were arranged in a different order. This adds to the length without a real purpose.

You definitely get the sense, like in The Land, that the world is so much larger then what's around them. I hope we get to see more of it.

Vocal performance was well done and enjoyable. The voices are mostly different from one another, although more then once I think a voice changed.. or came off as male but then became female later.

Also. Did you really have to include *THAT* after the last Book? Really?!

Aleron is creating one of my favorite universes in the labyrinth and Luke absolutely KILLS the narration. 100/10 cant wait for the next installment and for The Land to return!

A new exiting adventure!

I have been listening and reading Aleron Kong's books from the very beginning. He is an amazingly creative author and I love his mistvillage series! Patrick Rothfuss use to be my favorite author but Aleron has moved to my number 1# spot! This book is very interesting and has a very cool take on the litrpg genre. I very much so enjoyed the audio book and will definitely be picking up every title as soon as they come out. His story telling is always so captivating that I can actually see myself in the world watching 👀. His descriptive story telling is top notch and the detail and care he puts in really show. I'm excited for more of both this series and the mistvillage ! keep making amazing series ill be listening for sure !!!

I hope you branch out even further and try something completely different so interested to see what other stories you can tell. not just in the litrpg genre.

Another hit by Aleron Kong

I absolutely adore this addition to Kong's universe. It's familiar enough for someone who's listened to and loved The Land series, but new and different, avoiding the repetitiveness one might expect. It's a good long listen, and the narrator does quite well (though not as well as Nick P. if I do say so). I adore the God aspect of it, as it brings an entirely new perspective to the Rpg trope. I would recommend this to anyone who loves Rpg, D&d, and fantasy.
