Good story but not a fan of the narrator

I love lovecraft's works but the narrator sounds emotionless a lot of the time which takes away from the experience. The stories themselves are good though so its still worth listening to.

#Audible1

Good but repetitive

This gives a good feel for the Lovecraft style of prose, but the faux-Georgian English and casual racism get a little boring after a while. Also, the traditional lovecraftian stuff is from the second half of his career, so this is more of a starting point.

More tedious than anything I have ever sat through

I have found that most of the classics lack the ability to engage the listener the way modern writers can, so I was prepared to make allowances. This however strained my patience as nothing since the movie Ishtar has. The ideas in a handful of the stories are intriguing but even Call of Cathulu itself is destroyed by the narrator who swings between droll monitone and ridiculous screeching voices.

Do not pay more than a dollar for this presentation even if you are a die hard Lovecraft fan.

Can't Get Past the Narrators Voice and Delivery

I am sorry for such a bad review but this guys voice is absolutely terrible. He sounds almost identical to the Comic Book guy from The Simpsons. I made it about 1 hour of the 24 hour book and said nope I can't do it. His voice is so annoying and could not be more ill-suited to the subject matter. He sounds like an 18th century dandy throughout every story. HP Lovecraft is great, but people should be warned about this narration.

Can't get past the narrator...

When it comes to audio books, narration makes or breaks the story. Could not finish.
