Description

No mazes. No zombies. No games.
America Falls

Think North Korea and Russia are the greatest danger to the United States? Think again. After a surprise biological attack, America, the most powerful nation on Earth, quickly succumbs, with 99.91% of the population over the age of 16 decimated. As society unravels, and the ground invasion of his country begins, loner Isaac Race must form a connection with a ragtag group of survivors and elude not only the invaders, but other dangers and threats unleashed in chaotic Post-America.

Hell Week is the first installment of America Falls, a post-apocalyptic survival series, a compelling, action-packed story about who we are and who we have to become in order to survive.

This book/series was originally published as After Days and has been re-written and re-branded to embrace the author's original intentions of creating a compelling episode-driven adventure. For lovers of books by Jack Hunt, Bobby Akart, AR Shaw, Chris Pike, Ryan Westfield, Harley Tate, and Mike Sheridan.

Just misses the mark for great

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
I think the book overall was really good even though it was a little hard to get into at the beginning. It got better as the book went on and I will definitely pick up the next one in the series.

Good, but half a book

Generally speaking, I thought the book was good. Though, some of the dialogue was a bit clunky. Not sure if that is because of how it was written, or because of the narrator.

Really Credible Post-Apocalyptic Novel

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

I am copying my review of the first three books collection I've listen to at once, highly recommended.
I was truly taken with this series of post-apocalyptic survival. I found the plot very credible and I'm grateful that the author didn't resort to zombies or farfetched situations to narrate his story. I cannot say that there are no monsters though, because there are, but are of the human kind... Maybe the main adolescent character, acted a little too mature for his age, but then who knows how anyone would react when faced with the extreme situations he has to face in order to be able to survive and lead his friends to salvation? Speaking of which.... not what I was expecting, but I'll leave it at that since I don't want to spoil the outcome. I have listened to the first three books in the series at once and was sorry to reach the end. Looking forward to the sequel aa I would love to be able to follow this bunch of brave kids as they build a brand new world. Excellent narration and pleasantly written. A definite good listening experience even if a little violent at times.

Pleasant, flows well, good narrator...

I've dabbled in this genre before, and found much disappointment. This one was a pleasure. Not perfect, but a nice light listen while working around the yard. Found myself sad this one ended, but will buy the next in the series. Recommended.

(BTW: This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review. That never changes my review content, but I have to mention that to be fair and legal.)

A different approach to the end of the world

This book was extremely interesting. It started out as a story of an orphan and ended with a flu that kills most adults. The book gives the back story of the hero and starts a roller coaster ride until it stops on top of a hill for the next book.

I was given this book in exchange for a honest review.

Post Bio-Attack Fun

America Falls is an interesting combination of young adult themes (old people dying off), and post apocalyptic bio-terrorism. It's after a catastrophic event that we join our main character as he joins with a group of other teens to figure out how to stay alive. It's frenetic in its action, horrific in its setting, and unfortunately a little narrow in it's scope. The author says this was originally a long book and it feels like that, where it reaches an arbitrary point and ends and you want it to go just a little bit longer and get somewhere. But that's a relatively minor concern, as it gets everywhere very fast, and one would assume the follow up would be just as quick.

Narration is solid, and aids in the telling and the dramatic presentation of this work.

I received the audiobook review code for this at my request and have voluntarily left this honest review.

Great but felt unfinished

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

This was a very entertaining audio book about America as it falls apart due to a biological attack. It is written well and the narration is very engaging. The story is set up really well and had a very "real" feel to it. That being said, it felt like it just ends. I get this is book 1 of a trilogy, but I didn't feel like this book ended at a stoping point in the story, it just sort of stops. I definitely am engaged enough in this story that I want to continue it.

A Good read / listen

Fatal Reaction, Survival. The virus that wipes out nearly all adults and leaves under seventeens alive would be a total apocalypse, so adding a Chinese invasion of America is just over icing the cake!
The book is well written, is quite fast paced with a lot of action and a huge amount of emotion and teenage angst. It is an entertaining read/listen and is highly suited to a YA readers. An entertaining listen/read
Adam's narration is great.
