Publisher's Summary

Having sold millions of copies in print, Bernard Evslin’s classic retelling of the Greek myths captures the excitement and enchantment of these stories that have influenced many of today’s popular films and novels. Easy to understand and fun to read for both adults and children, it is no wonder this book has been taught in schools all over the world. Evslin introduces listeners to the wondrous and terrifying world of superhuman beings, such as Medusa and the Minotaur, and the glory of gods like Zeus, Athena, and Poseidon - brought magically to life through heroes such as Perseus, Daedalus, Prometheus, and others.

wonderful stories

I enjoyed the stories, although there was little to no break between chapters. Simply lovely

Missing Some Characters, Great For Catching Up

Every once in a while I like revisiting stories with Greek heroes, if only to remember what they’re really like. This collection is short and focuses mainly on the main gods, though it does leave out some key players and their stories.

I enjoyed some of the familiar legends, heard some new ones that I didn’t know, and the writing was good. The book is quick and offers more escapism than “historical” accuracy.

Still, if you’re a lover of the myths and are looking for a quick reference to inspire you, this is a great book to pick up!

Great book

Was a great book however be warned the author takes creative liberties on the details of the myths but does a great job at it

Nice but not complete

I expected to hear stories of goddess Hestia and gods Ares and Dionosus, but they were missing!
