Publisher's Summary

Ten years after the high-profile kidnapping of two young boys, only one returns home in Harlan Coben's next gripping thriller, to be published in September 2016.

A decade ago, kidnappers grabbed two boys from wealthy families and demanded ransom, then went silent. No trace of the boys ever surfaced. For 10 years their families have been left with nothing but painful memories and a quiet desperation for the day that has finally, miraculously arrived: Myron Bolitar and his friend Win believe they have located one of the boys, now a teenager. Where has he been for 10 years, and what does he know about the day, more than half a life ago, when he was taken? And most critically: What can he tell Myron and Win about the fate of his missing friend? Drawing on his singular talent, Harlan Coben delivers an explosive and deeply moving thriller about friendship, family, and the meaning of home.

What the critics say

"As the action picks up, [Narrator Steven] Weber reads with a fierce intensity, raising his voice to an all-out roar at the climax of one particular chase sequence. Weber's range of accents - British, Indian, Italian, New Jersey, to name a few - is also impressive and adds another layer of enjoyment to this expertly narrated thriller." ( AudioFile)

Myron and Win at it again

If you like mystery stories and Myron and Win, as I do, you will like this Harlan Coben book. Some parts are not believable but that is what this type of story telling is all about. I especially found the ending hard to imagine. That being said I did enjoy the read.

Not for snobs

The narrator is over the top; picture a hedonistic Batman, and yet, I kept listening. Great reader, lots of NYC atmosphere, and a very appealing protagonist. The plot is a piecing together of overblown characters and action adventure, but how many sophisticated plots can we expect from such a prolific author? He does this stuff very well.
I think the Dakota May have more tenants fictional than real.
