Description

The coming-out story that will completely change the way you look at love.

Juliet represents the road less traveled. Will Lena take it?

Lena Newman is 17, her best friend's a cheerleader, her boyfriend's a football player, and as far as everyone is concerned, her life is sorted. But that's before she befriends the new girl. Juliet is confident, slightly damaged, drop-dead gorgeous, and a lesbian.

Lena realizes that her interest goes beyond just friendship. She sets off on a path of self-discovery where the loyalty of those closest to her will be tested.

My favorite book since wattpad

I remember reading this on wattpad several years ago; sad, confused, and angry about my own sexuality. I remember reading this in the depths of the night and crying my heart out at how badly I wanted this, how badly i needed this life. When i read that Charlotte published Just Julieg, i was off the walls happy, so so proud of my favorite author finally getting to shine in the public market.

A few years ago, I looked up her book on amazon and smiled at how much support she got from her buyers, and a few days later my mom sat me down; she had found my search history. I vehemently denied all her accusations, that i just accidentally clicked on the title, curious about what it was. She decided to lecture me on not being gay, and i went to sleep crying. I pushed that part of me down from that point.

Finally revisiting this book is putting me through all sorts of emotions. I remember feeling these feelings YEARS ago. being this giddy and happy about a love story hasnt happened to me in such a long time. im so in love with this book. im so in love with the characters. every once in a while i go back to wattpad, ready to read the updates on Loving Lakyn.

Needless to say, i wholeheartedly thank you. Thank you for making me cry. Thank you for reminding me im capable of these feelings. Thank you for shaping me. Thank you so so so so SO much for everything. i will always love this book, it will always be my favorite.

Very "Woke"

The book felt very "WOKE" Not in a bad way. A teenager in high school who got pregnant, something that could've been taken offensively was quickly reprimanded, the sex positive discussions, and lacey the "Token black friend" (yes it's acknowledged)

The friendship between Lena and lacey is actually well done. The dialogue is realistic and how most girl friends chat, playful banter with mature conversations.

While the dialogue between every character was never dull and really realistic, the characters who are supposed to be in high school, sound a bit more mature.

I liked seeing the different family situations, Lena's parents are very busy, while Juliet's mother passed away.

While this is a romance book it doesn't include one sex scene. Which is perfect for me since I'm not a fan of reading or listening to those especially in a book with characters that are supposed to be in high school, and yes while I recognize that high schoolers have sex it's not something I want described in detail. (But still the book is very sex positive)

My favorite part of the book was when Lena and Juliet had to have a discussion about them having sex since Lena felt things were moving too quickly.

I was a little nervous about finishing the book after reading the top review on this book that basically said it went down hill after the first few chapters, I didn't feel that way. The conflict was practically non existent (until the last few chapters) and the relationship was steadily paced.

First Love & First Heartbreak.

High school is hard enough without having to explore you sexuality. Meeting Juliet changes everything for Lena. When colleges selected separates them by 4,000 miles, they break up and start separate life’s. When Juliet’s brother marries the man of his dreams they meet again. Great performance.
