Call Me by Your Name first swept across the world in 2007. It is the story of a sudden and powerful romance that blossoms between an adolescent boy and a summer guest at his parents' cliffside mansion on the Italian Riviera. During the restless summer weeks, unrelenting but buried currents of obsession, fascination, and desire intensify their passion as they test the charged ground between them and verge toward the one thing both already fear they may never truly find again: total intimacy. André Aciman's critically acclaimed debut novel is a frank, unsentimental, heartrending elegy to human passion.

A Masterpiece

Rare is there a piece of art that touches on so many human experiences as this one has.
Simply exquisite.

An Eternal Symphony

Where to begin. This book was so beautifully written, the story jumps off the pages; there’s such beautiful imagery. It feels as though you are there watching Elio and Oliver in person. This book brings out raw emotion. Just a gorgeous story. Love, true love, is eternal.

Just beautiful

Pure, youthful, and incredibly raw. Many events or thoughts are dissected in a way that make you revisit and reconnect with your own experiences and feelings. Reminded me how important it is to take time to embrace the smallest yet powerful moments.

So private, So naked, So shameless, So devastating

Here such a simple premise of a fleeting summer love turns into a philosophical discussion of what's a person and their happiness? Do others define it? How much does it depend on others? How much are you willing to sacrifice to gain it? And how much will the regret keep you from living your life, regret of not fighting harder, talking sooner, offering all of it?

Thoroughly engaging love story

Incredible. So honest, true and heartfelt. Will be thinking of this story for days...maybe weeks. Armie Hammer’s narration is superb as well.

woah

snatch my breath, and ripped muscle from bone. I consume this book ferociously, over the course of two days. it's the kind of book You by and have on your shelf for a couple years before you actually pick it up... I say that because it was. I had owned this book for about 10 months now and never gave it a listen. man that was a mistake. I'll be the first one to warn you it gets pretty weird and sexually interesting? if that's not your thing this book probably isn't for you but you could still enjoy it.

Absolutely supurb!

Captures so many themes in a poetic prose. As someone who has spent much time in Italy I appreciated the great understanding the author brings to the culture.

Masterful!

André Aciman has written a masterpiece in Call Me By Your Name. The ease of voice and the effortless flow of words through Elio’s point of view is exquisite. The exploration and journey of finding yourself and of sexual awakening, together with a sort of lust, makes this story even more relatable as we’ve all had unattainable crushes we wish would become something more. Now onto Armie Hammer’s magnificent performance. He nails the narration in CMBY and really encamptures the listener’s attention all throughout the story. Armie has a sort of non-chalantness to his voice that almost feels like he was born to read this story. All in all, with the masterful writing of Aciman and the beautiful narration by Hammer, this book deserves all of the praise and more.

Profound sensuality~

An absolutely beautiful, daring and complex novel! Aciman's economy of style is at once direct and poetic. He handles a controversial subject with such sensitivity, frankness and unabashed romanticism that swoons at every turn. Armie Hammer's rich baritone, and elegant reading is superb. I will return to this again and again.

Equal parts beautiful and heartbreaking

This story is both beautiful and heartbreaking. “Call Me By Your Name” is one of the most incredible novels to have ever written. This love story about Elio and Oliver will touch your heart and then break it into a million pieces. This is one of those novels and stories that will stay with you for the rest of your life. “Call Me By Your Name” is not only a brilliant masterpiece of LGBT literature, but it is also one of the greatest romance and coming of age stories to ever be written.

Crying in public

That’s what the ending of this book had me doing. Crying in the middle of a restaurant, and immediately on the last words as read by Armie Hammer, rewinding to hear the last few minutes all over again. Then I wrote a love poem to my husband. Great book! Great performance.
