When his mother became President, Alex Claremont-Diaz was promptly cast as the American equivalent of a young royal. Handsome, charismatic, genius—his image is pure millennial-marketing gold for the White House. There's only one problem: Alex has a beef with the actual prince, Henry, across the pond. Story
Arthur is only in New York for the summer, but if Broadway has taught him anything, it’s that the universe can deliver a showstopping romance when you least expect it. Ben thinks the universe needs to mind its business. If the universe had his back, he wouldn’t be on his way to the post office carrying a box of his ex-boyfriend’s things. But when Arthur and Ben meet-cute at the post office, what exactly does the universe have in store for them? Maybe nothing. After all, they get separated. Maybe everything. After all, they get reunited.

Call Me by Your Name first swept across the world in 2007. It is the story of a sudden and powerful romance that blossoms between an adolescent boy and a summer guest at his parents' cliffside mansion on the Italian Riviera. During the restless summer weeks, unrelenting but buried currents of obsession, fascination, and desire intensify their passion as they test the charged ground between them and verge toward the one thing both already fear they may never truly find again: total intimacy. André Aciman's critically acclaimed debut novel is a frank, unsentimental, heartrending elegy to human passion.
More praise for Call Me By Your Name:
"Hammer’s soft, velvety voice lends itself perfectly to the story and its Italian setting. While you might think this one isn’t worth a listen if you’ve already seen the movie or read the book, many reviewers say it is still worth taking in even if you know the story - some even say it’s worth listening to more than once." (AskMen)
What the critics say
"...Hammer's voice is brimming with such melody that, if you listen to it long enough, you can probably get drunk off it." (Vulture.com)
"...Armie Hammer (who plays Oliver in the movie) steps effortlessly into Elio's interior world. The result is staggering." (BookRiot)
Editorial Review
Plunge headfirst into this enthralling story of love, intimacy, and above all, passion. Call Me By Your Name is a true coming of age tour de force that will have you riveted from the opening lines until the very end. Elio is 17, living in Italy, and trying to find his footing in the world. Then, Oliver, a 24-year-old graduate student, comes to board at his parents’ home for the summer. Before long, the two young men are caught in a tangle of tension, cautious flirtation, friendship, and intimacy. As the summer progresses, Elio and Oliver weave a complicated dance of passion and tenderness that is both beautiful and doomed. At once a coming of age story and a tale of romance, Call Me By Your Name is touching, tragic, and truly magical. Author Andre Aciman sets the tone and mood of the story beautifully. His rich descriptions, delicate nuances, and believable characters will leave a lasting impression on listeners. The audiobook is narrated by Armie Hammer, who has a strong connection to the work, having played Oliver in the 2017 major motion picture adaptation. He steps easily into the narrative role of Elio, bringing the same depth and passion to the reading as he did to his on-screen portrayal of Oliver. Hammer has a lithe and melodic tone that is enchanting and engrossing. His emotive voice expertly captures the feel of the story and pulls the listener in. His performance of this superbly written and deeply moving story is a true must-listen experience. Both critically acclaimed and vastly popular worldwide, Call Me By Your Name is a tale of fleeting love that you will find difficult to pause and impossible to forget.

Armie Hammer’s voice 🥰😍😜
After watching the movie, I just knew I needed to read the book so I went to Amazon and saw I could listen to it for freee. Honestly this book was amazing and the fact that Armie Hammer narrated it was even better. Usually I’m not a fan of reading books after watching the film adaptation but this one is definitely worth it.

Absolutely supurb!
Captures so many themes in a poetic prose. As someone who has spent much time in Italy I appreciated the great understanding the author brings to the culture.

I was not engaged.
Full disclosure, I've only made it an hour in. Maybe there are fragments of plot somewhere in the next 6 hours but I'm not compelled to find out with our POV character.
This is some teenager who wants to get banged by a summer house guest. The driving force is will he or won't he get banged. This is a reason to read erotic literature- but I feel like the author is trying to be something more and I find that irksome.
I wasn't looking to read erotica (though I'm not against the genre) I was looking for an engaging character piece. You don't make those without establishing strong identities of your characters- so we can see the character bend and break to things happening to them. I get the protagonist has issues embracing his sexuality, but we don't get the context. What is it about this academic Jewish family that stifles his sexuality. The protagonist's thoughts of getting laid occupy that space where we might understand and sympathize with him.
Perhaps I'm just impatient and there is a great story just around the bend- but I'll never get there.
I just finished reading Dante and Aristotle discover the secrets of the universe and was hungry for more. I'll have to keep looking.

Gorgeous book
I loved the story so much, I decided to read/listen to the book before watching the movie and I’m glad I did. yes it can be very sexual at times, but not without meaning or purpose behind it which I really enjoyed.

art imitates life imitates art
Here is the incredible story of a true love, one that begins with all the angst of youth, that wounds you with it's bittersweet denial, that can't refuse itself despite the practical inner voice... the pain and the ecstasy. This book will tear your heart open, and leave you smiling through the tears, as it beats in the sunshine.
Armie Hammer delivers an exquisite performance, one even more poingant when considering this novel is in the voice of Elio, while in the film adaptation Hammer plays Oliver; speaking not only Elio's name, but his very soul.
