Harry August is on his deathbed. Again. No matter what he does or the decisions he makes, when death comes, Harry always returns to where he began, a child with all the knowledge of a life he has already lived a dozen times before. Nothing ever changes. Until now. As Harry nears the end of his 11th life, a little girl appears at his bedside. "I nearly missed you, Doctor August", she says. "I need to send a message". This is the story of what Harry does next, and what he did before, and how he tries to save a past he cannot change and a future he cannot allow.

It was good, but confusing
We read this for our bookclub and i wasn’t the only one who was confused. The general story would’ve been good if it weren’t for the extra details that make the story feel very slow. I wouldn’t read it again but it was a cool experience. Also, I actually really liked the ending (I really didn’t expect it).

Five stars across the board.
What a great book! Mystery, intrigue, with a spicy little sci-fi element. Twisty and spooky, everything I want in a book.

Inventive and Thrilling
I went into THE SEVEN DEATHS OF EVELYN HARDCASTLE knowing almost nothing about the premise. And I am glad that I did so. There are so many twists in this book that it's impossible to predict what will happen next. It's a story of secrets, family drama, and mistakes from the past.
A man is trapped in the same day over and over unless he can solve the murder of a wealthy daughter. Doing so means quite literally stepping into other people's lives and facing the ugly truths about them before it's too late.
The concept is sensational and I appreciate that Stuart Turton took full advantage of the premise. There are no unexplored avenues in this concept and it makes for a refreshing story with real consequences. There is no shortage of danger for our hero, and the stakes get higher and higher as the body count begins to rise.
Aiden, the main character, is a good person in a truly unhinged situation and is doing his best to not just save himself, but save people who deserve it. He is surrounded by a host of people who veer on the sides of good and evil. The entire cast is complicated, and the book takes time for us to understand who is who and how their actions affect this one single day.
The writing is sharp and filled with a wit that made me chuckle. I enjoyed many of the interactions and was surprised by the amount of action scenes the closer I got to the climax. This is one of the best murder mysteries I've ever read and I highly recommend it if you enjoy the mystery/thriller genre!

A Most Interesting Book
The author is excellent. I loved not only his writing style but also his ability describe even the smallest detail in a most wondrous descriptive manner.
The storyline too is very well crafted. It kept my attention well in place right to the end, which in itself was quite clever. A good book must always have a good ending.

Brilliantly Convoluted
This is the most interesting story I've heard or read in a very long time. Really unlike the typical "who dunnit", this story keeps you on your toes throughout the entire book and the revelations near the end are completely unexpected.
The narration was another unexpected bit of brilliance, giving different voices to all of the different characters. Their personas seemed to come alive with his narration. Very, very well done.
