a Skippy performance indeed...

I purchased and finished this book simply to have the context for book 8. I didn't much care for the operatic multi-actor performance, and found it difficult to hear dialogue because of sound effects. I hope this performance style is a once-off, as this monkey would be very conflicted to go through it again.

Skippy the meh...

I love this series, Skippy and Joe's back and forth is always fun. I am a quarter way through this Audio book and I can't stand it... Please for the love of Skippy go back to RC Bray and forget this audio drama style this dirty little monkey can't take it....

Just suffer through it

Voice acting did not match character personalities, story has more cringe and plot holes to shortern things.

Background noise was very distracting, listened at 1.5x just to get though it, regular speed is extremely drawn out.

Awesome!

This was so absolutely awesome and fun! It was a great escape from the current news cycle and lightened up a Saturday of isolation because of covid19. I'm so glad I chose it! The cast was fantastic and the plot was full of twists and surprises! The music was great too! I loved the "space opera" theme! More of this cast please!

Enjoyed, but room for improvement

Overall I was happy for more Expeditionary Force content and audio dramas can be super fun to listen to. In this one I think the scenes with the AI’s fighting for control was overdone and didn’t really add much to the story. That said, I thought the voice acting was great and I liked the cast a lot.
Worth a listen in my opinion.

Great plot, sub-par dialog

I'm guessing the author writes a plot outline then fills in dialog. The plot outline was excellent as always. The dialog seemed off to me. I often broke immersion because something a character said didn't seem authentic to their character. Also, many of the jokes were pretty bad "dad jokes" that, again, didn't seem like something that character would say.

That said, the plot was very good. RC Bray was spectacular as always. The other actors were fairly good. The music was great!

4 stars.

Not bad.

Love the story line, performances where excellent!Disappointed with the background noise/music. Made it difficult to hear the the storyline.
Prefer the other format in this series. Found it difficult to accept the new voices being so accustomed to RC Bray’s solo renditions.
