Description

The highly anticipated follow-up to Bang. Echo is the second book in the Black Lotus series.

It's been said the longest echo ever measured lasted 75 seconds, but I can assure you, this will last much longer.

The bang deafened the world around me, muting everything into nullity, allowing the reflection of its destruction to live far beyond its intended life. It will follow me forever, destroying me - destroying you.

You want answers? So do I.

Due to the dark and explicit nature of this book, it is recommended for mature audiences only, as some scenes may be particularly disturbing.

Wow. This is messed up.

I'm conflicted on this story. Some of the things my ears were subjected to hearing in this audiobook are so heinous and ugly that I thought at times my ears would bleed. But I feel hallowed out and scraped raw and it has been my experience in the past that books that have the ability to evoke such intense emotion in us are the books that stick with us long after we read the last page. My issue is, I don't like these feelings too much. This is not a feel good book. It is jammed full of tragedy. Just when you think there is a chance that the main characters might make it out on the other side of these tragic events, maybe not whole or completely sane, but you begin to search for that light you can sense coming just at the end of the tunnel...only to find out that the light is a train barreling headlong to smack you on your a$$. For me the story became unbelievable. In my opinion, where there is only darkness, there can be no light. There was no balance in this book. It was chaos, hate and utter hopelessness and to top it all off, there was a monster cliff that Ms. Blair left us hanging off of...again. Not a happy camper right now.

Don't waste your time!

An incredible disappointment, I wish I had given more thought to previous reviews; Absurd story! This is the equivalent of driving by an accident.

Perfection

The second Audio is just as good as the first. How can two twisted, dark, monsters find happily ever after and the solace they both desperately need and crave? The twist, turns, and mangled web goes back generations and connects these two tighter than either of them ever thought. Another fantastic job by the narrator. Both male and female voice work was done to perfection. I cannot wait to start on Audio 3. I would definitely recommend this series to anyone who likes a dark, hot, and psychological love affair.

Gasp

I had to wait a day before writing a review because I had to digest.

This story begins where Bang left and just like in Bang, you listen while your emotions are thrown around. You go from hating a character to loving a character to finding out a character has been betraying another from the start. It's all so much.

I think Bang was better than Echo, but maybe because it was more explaining why everyone is who they are. Now in Echo, it's more of an action romance. Still loved it, still will be holding my breath for book 3.

5 Emotionally Draining Stars!

This was a great follow up story and a lot of things get answered. This book is just as dark, thrilling, and twisted as the first book. There is still so much to learn and the cliffhanger has me intrigued, but I am emotionally drain and don't know if I can go on to book 3. How much can one person take?

There's a Book 3 coming....

Cliffhanger ending...someone is still alive...who it is will be answered in book 3...I guess. This listen was a struggle mostly because it is a rehash of old news, there were a few new bits to the story. I am kind of tired of being teased into buying book after book and it really has to be good to get me there...I haven't decided with this one yet.

Dark and intriguing

Just like The first book, flashbacks to physical, sexual, and emotional abuse were difficult to listen to. This is not a feel-good read. The main characters are twisted and damaged. It is dark, intriguing and emotional with a few plot twist to keep you guessing.

It contains a few explicit sex scenes, not all are consensual.

If you are OK with everything listed above, I highly recommend this book. It is really well written.

WHAT THE WHAT!!!

Jaw dropping suspense, action, drama and twists. Crazy erotic, lustful and insane. Gut wrenching, tears, yes tears! Just when I thought it couldn't get any better. Loved it. And thanks to the incredible and talented narrator too!

bk 2 Echo black lotus

Echo is the second book in the Black Lotus series written by EK Blair. Echo picks up right from "Bang" - literally -

As the dark past haunt our characters, and a con is infiltrating it's way between lives, it becomes uncertain who is the hunted and who is the huntee. The flashbacks can be disturbing and the PTSD is evident as the damaged characters sometimes lose their footing. You can begin hating a character to loving them in spite of their flaws, then to find out they are still damaged and empathizing some of the decisions and disasters they leave behind.
This series isn't for everyone but I really enjoyed the twists and turns, the deception, and surprises -
Elena Wolfe as always orchestrates each characters personality with fluid execution.

Dark twisted story with secrets

Audiobook Echo book 2 of the Black Lotus series.
“Everybody has secrets, everybody lies, and everybody cheats their way through life for self-fulfillment.”

Narrator:
Elena Wolfe. One name. One performer. One voice to get mesmerized by. Her Scottish accent was perfect. Elena is by far my favorite female narrator. I could listen to her perform any of my favorite romance books. She is the only female narrator who can perform both male and female characters exceptionally well. Her performance was word perfect. The sound quality was splendid. The tone and voice was brilliant.

Story:
Contains graphic sex scenes. It’s a dark taboo story with violence and abuse. A past backstory woven with pain, violence and abuse exposing secrets and lies.
Elizabeth was conditioned for a life of sexual abuse with pain and humiliation. She endured the sex by building a wall of tolerance. Pike understood and shared her pain, but one man wanted to save her from her pain. It took making him a monster to get him to fully understand her pain before she could breakdown her walls.
They had an unconventional love built in from the ugly broken pieces of her past.

Overall:
I forgot how dark this story was. Elena captured the pain and humiliation of Elizabeth’s character beautifully. She brought these characters to life.
