Money - investing, personal finance, and business decisions - is typically taught as a math-based field, where data and formulas tell us exactly what to do. But in the real world people don’t make financial decisions on a spreadsheet. They make them at the dinner table, or in a meeting room, where personal history, your own unique view of the world, ego, pride, marketing, and odd incentives are scrambled together. In The Psychology of Money, award-winning author Morgan Housel shares 19 short stories exploring the strange ways people think about money.

The Thank You Economy is about something big, something greater than any single revolutionary platform. It isn't some abstract concept or wacky business strategy—it's real, and every one of us is doing business in it every day, whether we choose to recognize it or not. It's the way we communicate, the way we buy and sell, the way businesses and consumers interact online and offline.

Welcome to the summer of 1985 in Philadelphia, when the city was rocked—in almost every sense of the word—by two unprecedented events: Mayor W. Wilson Goode’s May 13 decision to bomb the headquarters of MOVE, a controversial Philadelphia-based radical communal organization, and the July 13 Live Aid concert, where international rock royalty convened in Philly to raise money for victims of the Ethiopian famine. Separated by just two months and eight miles, these events would showcase both the best and the worst of the so-called City of Brotherly Love.

By 1927, several of these pamphlets had been compiled into a book and this collection has been in print ever since. It has helped millions of people, and has been hailed as the greatest of all inspirational works on the subject of thrift, financial planning, and personal wealth.
A modern day classic, The Richest Man in Babylon dispenses financial advice through a collection of parables set in ancient Babylon. Worth Every Cent!
I remember hearing about this book on the social it was in many top pick book lists for business and rightfully so. I wanted to see what the hype was all about so I picked it up and I am glad i did. Worth Every cent!
I have reread this book so many times and come back to it when I feel I'm going off course. This book actually teaches you how to become rich, One of the main characters goes through many trials and we hear about how he failed and the lessons we should all learn. This book is not a get rich quick trick but rather a manual on how to acquire wealth, keep it, and multiply it.
The main take away from this book should be anyone can build wealth regardless of how much they make if you put in the work. Definitely would recommend this book to everyone that feels they want or cant build wealth you can do it!

Too hard to follow with all the shakesperian lingo
Would love if there was a regular person version in plain English, I keep going back to relisten because the words sound so ancient that I have no idea what is being said. "thou, thine" etc. also the centence structure is all scrambled up to sound like its Shakespeare or something, I'm trying to learn how to build wealth not how to be more cultured.

Truly a Personal Finance Classic
I admit I put listening to this one off for a while thinking it was outdated, the title isn't catchy, yada yada... every excuse in the book (no pun intended). I regret not listening to this YEARS AGO and now truly understand why this is considered a classic in the personal finance world. Granted, the language is sometimes outdated --mostly because the author tries to narrate by portraying the language used in the Babylonian era. However, all the stories narrated and all the parables are just applicable today, if not more so, as they were when this book was written or even since the beginning of time. It made me truly reflect on why some of my extended family members, close family members and within my generation, are truly wealthy versus my own circumstances and my immediate family's errors in our ways and thinking. If you're struggling financially, do yourself a favour and take 5 hours of your time to listen to this and seriously consider revising whatever strategy you have. It's not a get-rich-quick scheme, these are lessons for life.
