Histoire
It's a summer's evening in Amsterdam, and two couples meet at a fashionable restaurant for dinner. Between mouthfuls of food and over the polite scrapings of cutlery, the conversation remains a gentle hum of polite discourse - the banality of work, the triviality of the holidays. But behind the empty words, terrible things need to be said, and with every forced smile and every new course, the knives are being sharpened. Each couple has a 15-year-old son. The two boys are united by their accountability for a single horrific act; an act that has triggered a police investigation and shattered the comfortable, insulated worlds of their families.

Really good story
But——the biggest problem was the narrator. I didn’t mind her so much for Alice, but I had a lot of problems when she did the other characters because she hardly changed her voice. A couple of times I totally missed that it was someone else talking and had to go back and re listen. The story itself was excellent and I loved the ending

Alice forgot a whole lot
The narrator was so good that every time she voiced a child whining or screaming I felt like jumping out a window. The story was good. The first 2-3 hours are excruciating, as they are basically in real time. Alice's story was interesting and not too predictable, which was nice. I also liked that the supporting characters had real, full stories of their own. Especially Alice's sister, Elizabeth, who is not just there to tell the reader what Alice forgot. Sometimes it was a little too wordy in places. Overall pretty good. #Audible1

Another great novel.
I have yet to be disappointed by either Liane’s stories or her rich characters. The women in her stories are real and the events relatable.
I love the narrator’s accent. I always find myself thinking to myself in that accent for days to follow.

Another hit by Moriarty. The story was wonderful to lose yourself in. Was sometimes distracted by the reader/narrator with background noise (slight shuffling of paper), but really liked her soothing voice. I looked forward to listening to the book.

A wonderful reshreshing honest and beautiful book.
Would you consider the audio edition of What Alice Forgot to be better than the print version?
Yes, the Australian narrator nailed the funny moments and accentuated the personalities of the main characters
What other book might you compare What Alice Forgot to and why?
None so far. It was very different and a real opener to how we can change in 10 years, why and how everyone has a different perspective on things
Which character – as performed by Caroline Lee – was your favorite?
I loved Elizabeth and her "homework" to her Doctor
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
WhenAlices senses were overloaded in the hospital by frangrance. Sense of smell is very emotive and it captures this perfectly

Yes I probably will listen to it again
What did you like best about this story?
I loved the concept of the book. It was so well written and believable.
Which character – as performed by Caroline Lee – was your favorite?

I expect a big exciting twist in liane moriarty books, and this one didn't really have one! The conclusion felt like a bit of an anticlimax. As usual though, a Step above the usual chick lit with likeable characters and an engaging story.
