Excellent insight

24 years of suffering from panic disorder and generalized anxiety disorder I personally found this book to be the best I’ve read to date. A lot of excellent insight, tools and resources (of course we have to do the exercises in the book to reap full benefit). Definitely pleased I came across this book.

The Bible to combating anxiety and depression.

Listening to "Feeling Good" and this book has cemented my upmost respect for Dr Burns.

I believe that in general, self help books with their fake confidence inducing strategies, "how to be happy" podcasts and books, and any extrinsic motivational sources are all bound to be cause temporary relief since they do not address the root causes of the issues and tend to be specific to problems.

This however, is not a self help book. This is therapy. This book gives you actual tools that attack at the roots to combat your current and future anxiety and depression problems. Listening to this book also helps puts into perspective that you are not alone in your depression and or anxiety struggles, and that people have and have had it way worse.

One would imagine that it would be a bore and chore to listen through a book about Therapy, but Dr Burns has written it beautifully, and the book even consists of a lot of funny moments that made me laugh out loud, allowing me to go through it with a breeze. The narration is also lovely, and very calming to listen to.

I'll be referring back to these books for the rest of my life.

might be alright for some, not me

tried listening to this on my way to and from work but it steadily refers to pdf files. stopped after the second chapter

A great read for anyone, and not just those with anxiety challenges and depression

From my hubby, who had (past tense) somewhat severe anxiety and OCD…

This is a really well written and organized book. It is perhaps the best CBT book I have read to date. It is especially important to actually do the worksheets to realize the benefits of the book. I would agree with its author that the book can be used on its own, with great success, but that it can be combined with the help a qualified therapist for those who need a little extra guidance or feel better with a skilled guide.

Even people who do not have clinically diagnosed anxiety issues, or depression, will likely benefit from the practices detailed in this book — since most people experience some levels of anxiety or mood challenges from time to time.

I highly recommend this book.
