Publisher's Summary

Many of our global economic problems started in 1971...when President Richard Nixon took the U.S. off the gold standard. Throughout history, when a government went off the gold standard, an age of turbulence began.

In 1997, Robert's book Rich Dad Poor Dad stunned readers stating, "Your house is not an asset." As howls of protest went up around the world, the book went on to become an international bestseller and the #1 personal finance book of all time.

Rich Dad Poor Dad is not a book on real estate. It is a book about the importance of financial education. Rich Dad Poor Dad was written to prepare you and your loved ones for the financial turbulence Robert's rich dad saw coming.

In 2007, as homes declined in value or were lost to foreclosure, millions of homeowners painfully discovered the wisdom of words of Robert's rich dad. Today we are all aware that a home can be a liability. Today we know a home can go up or down in value. Today we all know a person can lose money investing in the stock market. Today we all know our money can go down in value and that even savers can be losers.

This is why financial intelligence is more important today than ever before. In a world of financial turbulence, your best asset is financial IQ.

great book but...

great and very informative but the narrator/delivery is boring. it's better if you read the book not just listened to it

Good Listen

I'm a big fan of the rich dads series of financial books there is a lot to learn from someone who has seen a lot in this field. The experience of the author is in America but being Canadian it's all mostly transferable. All in all a good listen!! #Audible1

Life Altering!

I struggled listening to this Audiobook because of the Narrator. It was read as if this was his 1st time picking it up and he had no clue as to the content within it. It was presented almost robotic like, with choppy, broken sentences, as if he has never read aloud before, or was not comfortable doing so.
That being said, the content was extremely educational. Therefore, I continued on, despite the struggle.
There was much to be learned about financial intellegence, as well as myself. For example, I recently observed that I'm not taking that next big step in life due to an irrational fear. In the last 1/2 of the book, I found that I unknowingly have been sabatoging myself. This book detailed why that is, what is happening subconsciously, and how to recognize, prepare and re-align myself to be aware what's going on.
As other's have said, he does talk a lot about Donald Trump, but this was written during a time when Donald Trump was revered as a Real Estate tycoon, not someone who was President. He was many quotes and discusses Warren Buffet just as much, or even more, yet reviewers don't complain about that. If you are not a Trump supporter...try to read/listen with an INVESTOR mindset, not a political one, and you'll be just fine.
I would give 5* across the board, if not for the Narrator's presentation.
