In the Upanishads, illumined sages share flashes of insight, the results of their investigation into consciousness itself. In extraordinary visions, they experience directly a transcendent Reality which is the essence, or Self, of each created being. They teach that each of us, each Self, is eternal, deathless, one with the power that created the universe.

Histoire
In this series of informal talks to close students, Eknath Easwaran comments on short extracts from the Imitation of Christ by Thomas à Kempis, a classic 15th-century Christian text. Recognizing that these gems of spiritual counselling are expressed in difficult, medieval language, Easwaran takes care to place them in a contemporary context. He shows how this great text contains much sound, sensitive psychology that can guide us in making wise choices today.

Revered as a sacred text within Hinduism, it contains the great spiritual teaching Bhagavad-gita. Krishna Dharma has condensed the epic into a fast paced novel that fully retains the majestic mood of the original. A powerful and moving tale, it recounts the history of the five heroic Pandava brothers, sons of the Emperor Pandu.

This audiobook concludes the presentation of a long-predicted major advance in critical human knowledge. It explains the very essence of consciousness as it evolved from its primordial appearance as life on earth, on up through evolution as the human ego, and hence, the transcendence of the ego as the spiritual Reality of Enlightenment and the Presence of Divinity. The uncommon clarity and lucidity with which the highly evolved subject matter is presented facilitates the listener's understanding and comprehension.

The Long Discourses of the Buddha (Dīgha Nikāya) is the first of the five Nikāyas (Collections) in the Sutta Pitaka and has its own particular character. Unlike the others which contain thousands of shorter discourses (suttas), it comprises just 34 but of much longer length - as the name indicates! This makes it in some ways a more focused collection of teachings of the Buddha and especially accessible in audio.

Histoire
The Numbered Discourses (Aṅguttara Nikāya) is the last and longest of the four primary divisions of the Sutta Piṭaka, (Baskets of Discourses) that make up the main original teachings of the Buddha. The word aṅguttara literally means 'up by one factor', i.e. 'incremental'. It refers to the fact that the discourses are arranged by numbered sets, with the numbers increasing by one.

Description
Dhammapada means "the path of dharma", the path of harmony and righteousness that anyone can follow to reach the highest good. This classic Buddhist scripture is a collection of vivid, practical verses gathered from direct disciples who wanted to preserve what they had heard from the Buddha himself. Easwaran's translation of this classic Buddhist text is the best-selling translation in the US. In the comprehensive introduction, he brings the story of the young Prince Siddhartha and his heroic spiritual quest vividly to life. His overview of the Buddha's teachings is reliable, penetrating, and accessible. The Buddha rejected superstition on the one hand and philosophical speculation on the other. He taught the path to the end of suffering and showed how we can achieve lasting joy. In The Dhammapada he spells out our choices with a refreshing realism and frankness.
This audiobook is a complete narration of Eknath Easwaran's introduction and translation, but omits the short chapter introductions by other writers.

Love 💗 of a Buddhist ☸️ Sri Lankan 🇱🇰 ❣️
I truly have been a Sri Lankan Buddhist for over 40 years❣️ Sri Lanka 🇱🇰is a battle for thousands of years of battle between Sinhala Buddhists and Tamil Hindus…
I’ve truly being born in UK 🇬🇧 and immigrated to Canada 🇨🇦 I have always cried 😔 about Sri Lanka’s brutal civil war over 30 years. In many way we are saddened by the scars and unjust in not causing harm to both sides of inhuman war.
I am blessed 😇 by reading this version of Buddhism ☸️ is making me reading again my third time and the knowledge learns me thousands of years of wisdom and I understand more of KARMA and I join to all of us to attain Nibbana and become all Meitriya.
I am blessed 😇 to live the way of Yoga and meditation and my actions will assist me and lead me to a better way to live for all Sri Lanka 🇱🇰 and end these politicians and follow the Buddhist history of our great Theravada understanding in Pali and May we all live in Love 🥰 and Compassionately for both all members of Sri Lanka 🇱🇰❣️
To save our ills and we must revolt this lack of hatred and sadnesses and unite in the world 🌍 of all Brothers and Sisters and May we all start this 2023 New Year form a New Jerusalem in Canada 🇨🇦 where all races, all creeds, all counties and religions unite for goodnesses for all❣️
