Description

Excellent story - on so many levels
The story grabbed me right from the beginning and kept tugging! Excellent weaving of past and present . The author covered so many topics that affect women and how women survive

Fascinating!
I loved listening to the performances of the Appalachian dialects. The speech patterns were so descriptive and point to language as a living and evolving entity. The universal tales of love and family came to life in a unique and unfamiliar setting. A very good story!

A wonderful story
It captured me from the beginning… the story of love, hardship, family ties and harsh prejudice in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Beautifully written and beautifully spoken. I was transported into the world of Randolph and Sarra. On a humorous note, I loved Friday aka Napoleon the chihuahua. Thank you so much!
