Elijah Wood brings every character alive
Hukleberry Finn is a better read than Tom Sawyer and I cannot see anyone doing a better job of reading it then Elijah Wood. He really brought the characters to life.

He "got" Huck's voice..
Read this as a kid as an adventure story, and then again in school when they tried to teach us about allegory.
This reading was superbly done, Huck's "voice" was great, .. just a great reading.
and no @#$%&! mood music, or if there was I was made unaware.

incredibly performed! obviously good book
enjoyed every minute of it. original version. if they would have "washed " it i wouldn't have listened because history is what it is and shouldn't be washed.

Surprises at every turn
I listened to this every night before bed with my 10 year old boy. There needs to be a warning about language, I had no idea the N word was in it! That led to a lesson about why the word is so bad and why we don't say it. I decided to let him continue listening to the story even though the word was so prevalent, and I think he has a more mature understanding of racism now, having heard this historical perspective. It's important that we don't forget how people used to be treated back then. I think age 10 may have been a little early for that lesson though, and I would have preferred to see a clear content warning so I could be prepared before listening.
That said, Elijah Wood did an amazing job of narrating all the characters. He really brought the story to life. And the story itself was super entertaining. We could never predict what Huck was going to think of or run into next. A great adventure.

Superb narration!
The story is as charming, as is most of Twain’s work. The narration, however, is exceptional so much so that I fear other audiobooks won’t be able to hold my attention because I’ll be wondering what magic Elijah Wood could have and would have worked on the telling of the story.

Huck
Wood did an amazing job in narrating this book from ‘back in my day’.
I remember this story well from elementary school, and it was about time for me to review.
