One of the better books in the series.
While I found the climax irking, and some of the subplots completely un-engaging, this was nevertheless one of the better books in the series.

another tear jerking ending
on my third read and enjoyed every bit of this book. So much continuing saga of wonderful characters. Fitting end with Saran Pedak!

Michael Page is a great narrator despite what anyone says. Obviously the book is amazing. Best one since Memories of Ice.

The tension mounts from start to end
I forgot how deep the books are in this series. Events in this book are a direct consequence not only of the previous novel, but of the novel two back. As they were published years apart, it is easy to forget all the loose ends. This is my second reading, and I am only now seeing how the stories are intertwined.
When a story like this becomes intense, it takes over my pastimes, so that I ignore television and other books, and sometimes even sleep. It's that good.
