Rosie

They say that life is a beautiful lie and death a painful truth. They're right.
No one has ever made me feel more alive than the guy who serves as a constant reminder that my clock is ticking.
He is my forbidden, shiny apple.
The striking fallacy to my blunt, raw, truth.
He is also my sister's ex-boyfriend.
One thing you should know before you judge me: I saw him first. I craved him first. I loved him first.
Eleven years later, he waltzed into my life, demanding a second chance.
Dean Cole wants to be my bronze horseman. My white knight has finally arrived. Hopefully, he isn't too late.

Dean

They say the brightest stars burn out the fastest. They're right.
She sets my mind on fire.
All smart mouth, snarky attitude, and a huge heart.
In a world where everything is dull, she shines like Sirius.
Eleven years ago, fate tore us apart.
This time, I dare it to try.
Getting to her is a battlefield, but man, that's why they call me Ruckus.
Rosie LeBlanc is about to find out how hard I can fight.
And conquering her will be the sweetest victory.

Ruckus is a complete stand-alone and a part of the Sinners of Saint series.

Wow

It’s not often I can listen to a book that can make me cry and laugh shortly after.

Enjoyed it a lot.

Just Wait!

Okay, so the first couple of chapters are a little slow but it really picks up after that. Yes he’s a dick but without giving the story away you will understand why. One of the things I like about this story is how it touches on very important subjects, such as CF, drug addiction, alcoholism.
Yes there will be tears shed but also lots of belly laughs. So far this is such a good series, can’t wait to start the next book.

A Heart-Racing Ride

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Heat Level: 🔥🔥

Ruckus by L.J. Shen is my second foray into the world crafted by this talented author, and it left me reeling with a potent book hangover. This enemies-to-lovers narrative gripped me from the start, ensuring I couldn't put it down. The added bonus of enjoying the audiobook while I worked only enhanced the experience.

This installment in The Saints and Sinners series has firmly secured its place as my favorite. While it stands strong on its own, I wholeheartedly recommend indulging in the entire series. From the very first lines of the prologue, I sensed this story would shatter me, and indeed, it did. Ruckus delivers the kind of intense, all-consuming love story that keeps you turning pages well into the night.

Although categorized as dark romance, I found Ruckus to be less bleak compared to recent reads in the genre. It possesses a somber undertone, particularly in its exploration of themes like bullying, yet it's balanced by moments of hope and resilience.

The synopsis teases a tale of forbidden love and second chances, and Shen executes it masterfully. The complexities of the characters, especially the protagonist's battle with illness, add depth and authenticity to the narrative. Dean and his forbidden love interest's journey is fraught with tension and passion, making every interaction crackle with electricity.

In conclusion, Ruckus delivers a thrilling ride that blends heart-wrenching emotion with undeniable chemistry. With its compelling characters and addictive storyline, it's a book that lingers long after the final page. Fans of enemies-to-lovers romance will find themselves utterly captivated.
