best one so far

Great story and the the narration is top notch. The terrible jokes and puns are held to a minimum which is excellent. The character progression is odd with all the stats that mean little when u can just bash in the head of someone much stronger like the dark lords champion few books back lol. Also odd that only dia gets to become a player when many of the Poe raiders die in the raids.

Great book, 1 chapter out of order

Any additional comments?

Audio files are in the wrong order. Chapter 21 came before Chapter 20. made for a confusing read for a little while. It sucks because chapter 19 was leading up to a climax that was supposed to be the beginning of 20, instead it jumped to the aftermath of 21 then came back to 20.

Antics this Antics that

I enjoy these audio books a lot, but author uses the term antics way too much. Other than that, I enjoy the world building and characters (except Steve), and the competing interests between PoE and Players is quite enjoyable.

Having listened to books 1-4

I finally understand what has been putting me off. I loved books 1-2. They were enough to get me to book 4 but that's where I end.

Why?
Two main reasons.
First, between books 3-4 the story grows very stagnant. Half the story could have been cut out and those two books combined.
Second, the characters are too similar in their levity and attitude. Maybe some of it is the narration, but I overall it just seems to be how they were written. I feel as if I'm looking at the same personalities with different character names.

Chapters messed up

Chapter 20 & 19 are in the wrong order, other than that it is just a continuation of the best series that I have ever read

mixed up chapters!

I love these books but that mixed up chapter between 19-21 really ruined it for me, right on the climax of the main section of the book! :(

Hopefully they can redeem themselves on the next book!

Good story some clear errors.

Feels like some chapters are either out of order or my app messed up and had a bug. After around chapter 15ish the story jumps around a lot. It feels like chapters 1-15 were read from the final print version of the book. Where as all of the chapters after that were from a earlier draft of the book. They have repeated parts, grammatical errors, bad pacing, missing parts, and almost no final editing or consistency. None of the other books in this series have had these problems. This audio book needs to be looked at to insure consistency.

Meh addition to the story

I love this series but this book is short and not a lot really happened, the big fight gets ruined by the out of order chapters. I guess I just expected more.

Disappointed

The first book of this series was pretty entertaining. Books 2, 3, and 4 go sideways for a few different reasons:

1. Do we really need every detail from every fight in every battle? The book wastes hours of content going into unneeded detail on each and every fight of each and every battle. Most of it can be cut and I found myself fast forwarding just to get it over with.
2. If you are going to do humor please actually be funny. Chatfield's humor just doesn't work. Some of it repeats itself and is not funny the second time around either.
3. Were the intimate scenes written by a virgin teen boy? Seriously Chatfield your wife must be constantly unsatisfied.

When you get past the bloated battle chapters, terrible humor, and bad sex there is legitimately some good content in this book and series. Just disappointed because this series had so much promise is book 1.
