Description

In this powerful novel, number-one New York Times best-selling author Danielle Steel tells the story of two World War II concentration camp survivors, the life they build together, and the son who faces struggles of his own as a first-generation American determined to be his own person and achieve success.

Moving from the ashes of postwar Europe to the Lower East Side of New York to wealth, success, and unlimited luxury, In His Father's Footsteps is a stirring tale of three generations of strong, courageous, and loving people who pay their dues to achieve their goals.

Interesting read

I found the history interesting
Fell in love with the parents but not so much with the son thus the book flounders near the end

Excellent

I throughly enjoyed this book and would recommend it to everyone . Reminded me of her other book based on an historical event which was the sinking of the Titanic.❤️

Lacks a plot and is elementary

Without a plot and thin character development this book offers little. Good narrator, that is about all

So predictable!

I haven’t read a DS book in years & this one confirmed why. The beginning was ok, but further in I realized why I don’t read this author anymore! It’s so predictable. I honestly don’t tho k she put any effort into this book. Everything was “so beautiful “ or “so wonderful “ and of course everyone is stunning & rich & smart. Honestly I just wanted to barf! Don’t waste your time, unless you are into sap & blah blah blah! 🤢

In In Fathers Footsteps

This book was wonderful. I had read all of Daniel Steels books. I think this was one of her best books. I loved it.

nice story but a bit repetitive

I enjoyed the story and liked the narrators French accent when called for. I did feel like she kept repeating the same info over and over

Unrealistic

Why can’t she ever write in a bad ending for these villains she creates so uniquely? Max’s first wife should have lost that man she ran away from or I would have had him leave HER right after she gave up her fricking CHILDREN!!
What a horrible ending. That woman deserves to suffer. How selfish and sick that character was. I would have made her suffer if I was Max. Public humiliation. Like take out full page adds in every paper she lives near telling the world how she abandoned her 4 children for a man. That would have stung. I hate how nice Danielle steel is now. Left a bad taste in my mouth. I won’t pre order anymore. She’s lost her edge.

Great story

This was a beautiful story. It’s important to remember the horrors of the third Reich and the courage and resilience of the survivors. The typical repetitiveness of Steele’s writing style is annoying as usual. I had a problem with the narrator. His accents were off, which was distracting.
