With the failure of Hadley's Hope, Weyland-Yutani has suffered a devastating setback - the loss of the Aliens they aggressively sought to exploit. Yet there's a reason the Company has risen to the top of the food chain. True to form, they have a redundancy already in place...the facility known as "The Cold Forge".
Remote station RB-232 has become their greatest asset in weaponizing the Xenomorphs. However, when Dorian Sudler is sent to RB-232 to assess their progress, he discovers that there's a spy aboard - someone who doesn't necessarily act in the company's best interests. For Dorian, this is the most unforgivable of sins. When found, the perpetrator will be eliminated with extreme prejudice. If unmasked, though, this person may be forced to destroy the entire station...and everyone on board. That is, if the Xenomorphs don't do the job first.

This is not an Aliens story: not recommended
Aliens are incidental to this story and their appearances are brief and unsatisfying. This is a story of how the protagonist, Dorian, descends into madness. He starts out as simply loathsome and unlikeable, but devolves into a maniacal murderer. That said, there are no likeable characters at all, and by the time they are all dead, you just don't care ... you just want the story to be over. It took a lot of skipping for me to make it to the end. Also, the performer delivers every utterance with a hostile, accusatory tone - which might work well had it been used occasionally - but becomes exhausting and caustic when it is the only tone used throughout the entire book.

dont waste your time horrible story isn't worth it
dont waste your money if your an alien fan stay away from this abortion. no descent characters or sceanes really , and way to much sjw.

Not really worthwhile.
Dull mind-numbing dialog, no real protagonists worth a damn and completely forgettable premise. I don't think the narrator liked the story either as he sounded like a "Microsoft Sam "after working a double shift at the DMV all the way through.

Engaging, Fun and Super Cynical
The narration was excellent. The story was engaging and I picked up on a number of references to the other works. Great fun - i recommend this book in audio or otherwise.

Strong story, stronger narration.
I’ve always loved the Alien series and Cold Forge is in serious contention for one of my favourite Alien-universe books.
Lots of action, lots of good drama—nothing too cheesy like a lot of books in this spectrum seem to include. The suspense is paced well and there wasn’t really any points where I got bored.
I couldn’t stop listening—and that is doubly reinforced by the top notch narration. Absolutely incredible voice work really breathes life into the characters. Hell, I just like the man’s voice.
Will be looking for more narrated by Mr. Braun!

Main Character is Horrible
The author decided to make the main character of the novel a narcissistic sexual predator. After eleven chapters, I couldn't take it anymore. I don't know why someone thought it was a good idea. The narrator's performance is well done at least.

Pretty cool
I really liked the performance and the story was pretty interesting too. Sometimes it was hard to follow for me but it might be because I’m not English native.

The intentions of the author are quite transparent, and as such made the plot, characters and story most predictable. I recommend passing to more creative works.
