Do we really need to set aside a million dollars? And if we don't have a snowball's chance in hell of saving that much, should we even bother to try? Gail's answers are no and yes - no, there is no magic number that fits everyone, and yes, you must bother! The hardest part of retirement planning is getting started, so Gail walks you through the steps to put momentum on your side.

Money - investing, personal finance, and business decisions - is typically taught as a math-based field, where data and formulas tell us exactly what to do. But in the real world people don’t make financial decisions on a spreadsheet. They make them at the dinner table, or in a meeting room, where personal history, your own unique view of the world, ego, pride, marketing, and odd incentives are scrambled together. In The Psychology of Money, award-winning author Morgan Housel shares 19 short stories exploring the strange ways people think about money.

Good information but poor structure
This book is very unlike the first. Rather than being a novel with a financial lesson it is a collection of rants and advice. That being said it contains some solid information. I would strongly recommend it for anyone who read the first book as it gives some updates and corrections. All in all it's not a stand alone financial book for beginners but a great extra read for supplementary information

Great Book!
Definitely would recommend this book after listening to both The Wealthy Barber and The Wealthy Barber returns. Both great books.
I recommend listening to the first one then the second.
The second book does not follow the same story book format but still great information.
I love how the book is Narrated by David Chilton. He is a fast talker though so if your multitasking you may miss a great piece of advice!

One Of the Most Important Canadian Finance Books
Dave perfectly captures the importance of mindset and gives actual hard examples of each and every scenario. Definitely start with this book first and then move onto books like Millionaire Teacher, and Retire like a Millionaire.
This book will serve as a fundamental reference to Canadian personal finance that you'll be coming back to time and time again.
Thanks for the great book, Dave. God bless.

Easy to understand but fluffy
I enjoyed the writing style, as these types of books can be very dry. However I’m disappointed with the lack of actionable learnings. It was lots of stories without much substance.

The how to save Barber
He definitely focuses on the basics which is vary important but repetitive.
I do like how he goes back to things he sed in the first book and lets you know how it worked for other people and this time with percentages of good and bad.
It was also vary happy that he focused more on Canadian finances then is his original book the wealthy barber.
