Histoire
They hunt us. They bomb our worlds for target practice. A star cluster in the constellation of Orion rotates once every 1,000 years. Those who rule there have an ancient tradition: When each cycle ends, they train their fleets by spilling the blood of lesser beings. The enemy fleets are coming again. In response, the Rebel Worlds gather their starships to face the terrifying threat, and this time humanity is asked to stand with them. The last time they considered Earth, Vikings in longboats were raiding English coastlines. Today, we're less primitive. Today, we're a target.

Histoire
In the 20th century Earth sent probes, transmissions, and welcoming messages to the stars. Unfortunately, someone noticed. The Galactics arrived with their battle fleet in 2052. Rather than being exterminated under a barrage of hell-burners, Earth joined their vast Empire. Swearing allegiance to our distant alien overlords wasn't the only requirement for survival. We also had to have something of value to trade, something that neighboring planets would pay their hard-earned credits to buy. As most of the local worlds were too civilized to have a proper army, the only valuable service Earth could provide came in the form of soldiers....

One starship will either save Earth or destroy her. A century ago our star erupted, destroying Earth's wormhole network and closing off trade with her colonized planets. After being out of contact with the younger worlds for so many years, humanity is shocked when a huge ship appears at the edge of the solar system. Our outdated navy investigates, both curious and fearful. What they learn from the massive vessel shocks the planet.

Histoire
The Wizard's Council of Tarador was supposed to tell young Koren Bladewell that he is a wizard. They were supposed to tell everyone that he is not a jinx, that all the bad things that happen around him are because he can't control the power inside him, power he doesn't know about. The people of his village, even his parents, are afraid of him, afraid he is cursed. That he is a dangerous, evil jinx.

Description
At long last, Earth has a handful of starships. Surrounded by Rebel Kher, Imperials, and the mysterious Nomads, humanity dares to assert our right to independence.
The interstellar community reacts harshly. In the eyes of our neighbors, we’re upstarts, dangerous beings who don’t know our place.
For the Kher, freedom can only be won through battle. War fleets arrive to instruct us, and Captain Leo Blake is again sent out to voyage among hostile stars.
We’re far from ready, but the time has come. It’s game on.

The 3rd and 4th book. . .
The title is misleading, the 3rd and 4th books aren’t as they seem, the author for some reason randomly puts introductions in on the main characters as if they were brand new characters.
Yes we know Chang, Mia, dalton and Sampson. The biggest qualm I have with the 3rd and 4th book is that story wise they were very similar.
The guy that read the book did a wonderful job

Great overall, but!!
This is a very enjoyable series, this series is similar to his other titles in the way of space/aliens/underdog mc/fighting aliens/impossible odds. That being said this is a wonderful series with great depth in both world and characters.
My only minor concern with this author is that he seems to have quite a few titles going at once, and if you are like me you want an end to a story at some point , especially if you are very invested in the series. That being said this author seems very dedicated to his work. Anyways, this series so far is quite good. Id recommend this series and Undying Mercenaries as well, I will be getting his Star Force series next.

Better than the previous
the story was definitely an improvement over the previous book. however, the author often forgets certain details established in previous books, which often took me out of the story. for example the command ones only used to work aboard the Imperial ships, but suddenly they work everywhere. also while it is important to make sure that each book stand alone, having the main character for get information that was already explained to him and which he'd already come to understand is also off putting. and frankly, while the first two books painted Leo has quitted and sharp, the previous and this book continue to repaint the character entirely, often making him bumbling and prone to dumb luck or great disaster. being consistencies make it impossible for one to want to read further.
