Publisher's Summary

For a decade, Darrow led a revolution against the corrupt color-coded Society. Now, outlawed by the very Republic he founded, he wages a rogue war on Mercury in hopes that he can still salvage the dream of Eo. But as he leaves death and destruction in his wake, is he still the hero who broke the chains? Or will another legend rise to take his place?

Lysander au Lune, the heir in exile, has returned to the Core. Determined to bring peace back to mankind at the edge of his sword, he must overcome or unite the treacherous Gold families of the Core and face down Darrow over the skies of war-torn Mercury.

But theirs are not the only fates hanging in the balance.

On Luna, Mustang, Sovereign of the Republic, campaigns to unite the Republic behind her husband. Beset by political and criminal enemies, can she outwit her opponents in time to save him?

Once a Red refugee, young Lyria now stands accused of treason, and her only hope is a desperate escape with unlikely new allies.

Abducted by a new threat to the Republic, Pax and Electra, the children of Darrow and Sevro, must trust in Ephraim, a thief, for their salvation - and Ephraim must look to them for his chance at redemption.

As alliances shift, break, and re-form - and power is seized, lost, and reclaimed - every player is at risk in a game of conquest that could turn the Rising into a new Dark Age.

Can't get enough

Story expands and continues to unfold were events cascade upon one another to threaten the overall peace, freedom, and well being of all citizens of the Solar Republic, the Gold Society, and the Rim.

Wishing the next book will be published soon!

My favorite yet

I have loved these books since they came out, this has been one of my favorites for sure. So compelling. Can’t wait for the next two! I will say though, the guy that played lysander in the last book was much better than this guy. This actor sounds a tad older than Lysander (who would be young). Other than that small bit it’s all awesome

Brown Brings It Yet Again

The storyline, character development and plot twists along the way, this story kept me at the edge of my seat throughout! I just relistened to the entire series in preparation for Lightbringer!!!

Even better a second time!

A story within stories

the changing of narration and the tie in of characters was difficult at first but it's culmination into a complete story was unbelievable.

Love this series... better audible then just read

Only complaint is that Cassius name pronunciation changes mid story! Feels cheapened! Love the whole series!!

Interesting, engaging and unique

This story was well performed well written, and a whole lot of fun. The characters are so well developed, but it really hits you when they meet their end.

Much improved from book 4

This one definitely had a slow start but when it picked up I couldn’t stop listening. Sad some big characters died.
The audio version improved with its choice of narrators this time compared to the previous one. However the mispronunciation of Cassius truly bothered me from start to finish. Even Tim who has narrated Cassius’ name the same way the first 4 books changed how he pronounced it during this one which I just found super annoying and had a hard time connecting it with the character I know and love. Otherwise it was great!

Incredible book, incredible series

The red rising series by Pierce brown is an immaculate sci fi fantasy series that pays homage to the greats, while at the same being a phenomenal series all on its own. Pierce brown is a wonderful writer and I can’t wait for book 6

War done right.

War, politics, unprecedented carnage. Amazing. Loved every second of it and can't wait until book 6.
