Histoire
Ryker only had one goal in his life right now: turn a certain adventuring guild into a flaming wreck while dancing merrily through the smoldering ruins. All for the chance to get back at a handful of people. It didn’t work out that way though. At all. He’d died, been forced into the body of an avatar, absconded with the queen as her castle fell to betrayal, kidnapped a little kid who is obviously more than he seems, and to top all that off, he killed his undead father. The smoldering ruins of the queendom have cooled, and Ryker has a task that is more than likely too much for him.

Description
Life in Alpha World has been a blessing for Alburet, more then he had ever thought it could be, and still more then he thinks he deserves at times. With allies and friends all around him, and the love of three beautiful, unique women, he knows that this might be the best life has to offer.
But all of life has complications, and his are many and varied. A quest from the Overlord requires he level as quickly as he can for the "End Game", or risk losing all the happiness he has found.
While that is difficult enough, more issues keep showing up. The open-ended contract by the Assassins’ Guild on any member of Alpha Company is testing the bonds of those who have joined. Add in the background movements of the Noble Houses to that list to make things even more annoying, but that is still not the end of the troubles. Not the least issue seems to be the machinations of the vague old evil that is stirring again, with its own plans.
With all these issues starting to bear down on Alburet and Alpha Company, he must fight to accomplish the goals needed to keep his loves, all while dealing with his own mental issues.
Welcome back to Alpha World.

So much repetition...
I started Alpha World this last week and was very happy when I finished book 5 and saw that Path to Peace would come out just the day after. After reading this book though I've lost most of my drive to continue with Alpha World.
Nothing gets resolved. Fluff gets some progress but plot progression is almost nonexistent and because some time is finally spent on doing quests/grinding exp the game mechanics come into the forefront, and they suck. It's like some simplified version of vanilla WoW with a physics engine so we really feel the "alpha" state of the game.
Then we have the character dialogue... It was a bit repetitive before but in this book it's taken to another level with almost nothing new at all, if we didn't have Mary and Gerald you could've saved 5 lines and put them on repeat.
In this world apparently rapists are kill on sight but professional murderers are fine upstanding paragons of JUSTICE or something... The way the assassin situation is handled makes every character involved seem like retarded chipmonks at best, contractors assassins and victims included. Taking action against the contractors or assassins isn't even considered.
Overall the book feel like it was written with the kiddy gloves on. Nothing really happens and it has no bite, it only sets up the next Alpha World books while I feel more than ready to get to Delta World.

Awful turn for what started out as a good series
This book was 85% filler, and terribly boring filler at that. Other than the end of chapter read off of the MC's stats and abilities, this book has none of the normal LitRPG qualities. The characters experience little to no growth. The syrupy relationship between the MC and his wives has grown very boring stale. It is basically a romance novel as if written from an adolescent male, that takes place inside an MMORPG.

Love the series, but this one was a miss for me
I'm very surprised how I ended feeling about this book. I LOVE the series, and enjoy all of the author s work. However was i hungry for more storytelling not just so many trips to zones to level. This book was filler and fluff. Nothing more.

Sick Of Fluff
tired of all the fluff centered dialogue. there is progression but its weird and at this point i start skipping forward to get past those parts. It adds nothing to the story and just sounds whiny. This may be the lowest I've rated a book to date.

Story good, character sheet spam has to go.
Dear Mr. Schinhofen, your insistence on spamming the character sheet at random, uncalled for times has really kneecapped this series for me. I still want to hear the story but the constant random character sheet that the poor narrator has to saw his way through is simply pointless.
Please either stop using it at all or at the very least use it only when there is a need as it PERTAINS TO THE STORY.
For everyone else, this series is fun but for me also has some annoying parts. It's one of the few series that I follow just to see how the supporting characters and world are doing. Because the main characters are either repetitive, boring, frustrating or just poorly executed. To the point that I'd actually be happier without them in the series. I started off getting into them but as the books progressed their stories have just gone to drek. The first book was the best IMO, lots of raunchy fun...then everyone has some mental trauma that they use the sex as a coping mechanism or something else....FFS really?!
And please, God in heaven, make this man ditch the Irish chick. So useless, so hard to listen to the bad accent.
Sorry if this review is harsh Daniel...but think of it as tough love. I really DO like the series. If I didn't I am the sort I just wouldn't bother saying anything.
At least you don't wish a salty citrus based glass of bilge water on me at the end of every book lol.
