Perfect Resource!
This book covers and addresses, in a single book, ideas and experiences many others leave out. It’s logical progression helps with understanding and making connections to self. At 50, I have often felt lost. Despite being a psychology major, the complexities of my trauma have eluded me. This book has led me to have many “aha” moments. It’s also allowed me to reflect on my life and make necessary paradigm shifts in order to continue my healing work.
I highly recommend this book for anyone seeking to understand themselves, their trauma, and CPTSD. This book won’t cover everything in depth and the author doesn’t offer a diagnosis. You will still require professional help to work through existing trauma. You may need to find other resources if you would like more in depth coverage of any one topic. However, this book is a helpful starting point for a deeper understanding of one’s trauma experiences. It’s a fabulous book!

So relatable
I loved this book so much that I also bought a paper copy of it so I can go back through it and highlight the key points that will help me on my hard days.
I will bought for all these years that I was crazy, a psycho and all the other things my abuser used to tell me. This book helped me learn and understand why I am the way I am and that there is nothing wrong with me. I am coping with CPTSD and learning that it is not my fault.

a needed perspective
Easy and conversational style made complex subject matter simple to understand while being an engaging listen. Gave me a perspective on my depression and catastrophic anxiety that is already more helpful than any other read, or even years of therapy in some cases. I strongly recommend this book if you feel like you had a rough childhood and struggle with your mental/emotional/social wellness.
My many thanks to the author for the gifts of wellness his perspective has given me already, gifts I feel are precious but only seeds that will grow, and grow me in turn.

THE book for CPTSD
