Publisher's Summary

A powerful curse forces the exiled Queen of Faerie to choose between ambition and humanity in this highly anticipated and jaw-dropping finale to the Folk of the Air trilogy from a number one New York Times best-selling author.

He will be the destruction of the crown and the ruination of the throne.

Power is much easier to acquire than it is to hold onto. Jude learned this lesson when she released her control over the wicked king, Cardan, in exchange for immeasurable power.

Now as the exiled mortal Queen of Faerie, Jude is powerless and left reeling from Cardan's betrayal. She bides her time, determined to reclaim everything he took from her. Opportunity arrives in the form of her twin sister, Taryn, whose mortal life is in peril.

Jude must risk venturing back into the treacherous Faerie Court, and confront her lingering feelings for Cardan, if she wishes to save her sister. But Elfhame is not as she left it. War is brewing. As Jude slips deep within enemy lines she becomes ensnared in the conflict's bloody politics.

And when a dormant yet powerful curse is unleashed, panic spreads throughout the land, forcing her to choose between her ambition and her humanity....

Im in a love/hate relationship with this one

I wanted to like this book soo much but I can't. The male lead is the perfect dark romance protagonist and the female lead has the right amount of courage, self sacrifice and wits but it doesn't feel right. I LOVED THE FULFILLMENT OF THE PROPHECY! and is the only reason im giving it 4 stars; the transition of a prince to a king who is fair, beloved and chosen(the whole king's speach before the storm was flawless, damn I would've pledge myself to his court!). I understand the author needed to give the female lead as much protagonism so that it would be clear that they were equals, so she needed her 15 minutes of fame... but I think she doesn't fulfill this role, she doesn't quite proof herself worthy to be queen, she was defeated and it seems like a fluke the fact that she won at the end, it doesnt feel earned but granted, so I think this could have been better.

A Happy Medium of Genres

I needed a break from my usual murder and suspense mysteries - but was pleasantly surprised to find this fantasy mixed with both! The world of faerie was deeply immersable and hard to put down 🧚‍♂️ 👸

Great

Absolutely loved it. It just kept me hooked from the first few chapters. Normally, I don't like stories that contain modern world inclusions, but they were well done here.

Amazing, would read again and again...

I loved this series and I’m sad that it is over. I hope we see a spin-off series in the future. Caitlin Kelly does a remarkable job bringing this story to life. ❤️

Couldn’t put it down

It took me a while to get into the first book... I enjoyed it and as the story went on, I become more and more engrossed. With this book... I couldn’t put it down! It had me engaged every step of the way and I loved the twists and turns the author took me on. Really enjoyed the character development too.
