Publisher's Summary

In the second book in number-one New York Times best-selling author Ilona Andrews' Kate Daniels series, tempers - and temperatures - are rising!

A mercenary in magic-torn Atlanta who cleans up after magic gone wrong, Kate Daniels has seen it all - and some things she couldn't even have imagined. Normally, waves of paranormal energy ebb and flow like an ocean current. But once every seven years, a paranormal flare comes and brings magic like a tidal wave. Now Kate faces problems on a much bigger scale: a divine one.

When Kate sets out to retrieve a set of stolen maps for the Pack, Atlanta's paramilitary organization of shapeshifters, she quickly realizes the stakes. During a flare, gods and goddesses can manifest and battle for power. The stolen maps are only the first contest in an epic tug-of-war between two gods hoping for rebirth. And if Kate can't stop their cataclysmic showdown, the city may not survive.

book 2, awsom

Magic Burns

Book 2 in the Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrew is Magic Burns. In this book Kate, the bad ass living weapon, aliens herself with the Pack facing an old Russian god. Who want to use the magic from something called a "flair", to gain life in the world. With plans of unleashing hordes of water demons to devastate mankind.

In this book we are introduced to Julie. A malnourished 13 year old whose mother is missing. Kate learns that Julie's mother was part of a trio of renegade witches who inadvertently summoned the wrong god. Without giving too much away Julie is orphaned and becomes Kate's ward.

We also see the relationship between Kate and the Beast Lord Curan grow in its unique, complex and funny way.

This is my second time, dear readers, enjoying this book. I found it just as captivating as the first. The first time several books were lent to me. The books have been read and returned. I enjoyed them so much that Ilona Andrews has become one of the authors for me to collect.

The book's are fantastic. The audiobooks are just mind-blowing. Renee Raudman really does bring this book to life. She has become one of my top favorite narrators. I am looking forward to hearing her read these stories as much as the story itself.

As ever and always I want to thank everyone involved in the creation, publication, production, distribution, and supporting both the written and audiobook format.

Yours
David Evil Midknight
