Publisher's Summary

As his Homo Novus project comes to fruition, Fabius Bile faces a new threat - the dreaded haemonculi of the Thirteen Scars. Can he marshal his forces to protect his creations, or are the New Men doomed to death?

Listen to it because: discover what happens when you cross the Haemonculus covens...and what lengths Fabius Bile will go to in order to survive their deadly attentions.

The story: in the centuries since his return from Commorragh, Fabius Bile has distanced himself from the affairs of friend and foe, content only to oversee the cruel evolution of his New Men. But when his creations are threatened by the monstrous haemonculi of the Thirteen Scars, the Manflayer is forced to seek out new allies and old enemies alike in an effort to preserve all that he has built. Homo Novus must survive...even if Fabius Bile must die to ensure it.

Warhammer 40korrie St.

This one was my favourite. There's gore everywhere and it's Commorragh, but the story is Corrie St.with Ultra Violence and guts. These characters kill most 40k protagonists by personality alone. 3 gene thumbs up.

Parta mutatus

Unlike the previous 2 entries, the stakes start high and stay that way for the rest of the story, so definitely some good progression there. Once again, however, the one thing that falls short is the differentiating of voices. John Banks does a great job, but at times I had trouble telling who was who, and I recall one character being given a different voice from what John gave them in the previous book.

Regardless, still a worthy ending to this little insight of Fabious Bile's life that started in Primogenitor. He went from being a character I thought I would despise to being one of my favorites, and I have this trilogy to thank for that.

Wonderful conclusion to the trilogy.

A tale of sadness and madness, of broken dreams and shattered ideals thrown at an uncaring universe.

Awesome like the others

Again Fabius Bile shows us how the Chaos Space Marines are the superior narrative device of the 40k universe

Climatic end to a great trilogy!

I have had a growing interest in the Emperors Children and picked this series up mainly for that reason. In the end I can't recommend this enough for fans of Fabius or the EC. All of the characters are fantastic from Fabius to the Harlequins, Drukhari, and even a glimpse at Fulgrim as he is now. They narrator does a fantastic job. I'll be looking into more by this author and narrator.
