Publisher's Summary

The New York Times best-selling author of Pucked and The Good Luck Charm delivers a Hollywood happily ever-after where a famous heartthrob falls for his ultimate fangirl.

"As charming as its title, but it's also so much more.... Fans of Jasmine Guillory's The Wedding Date and Helen Hoang's The Kiss Quotient will love Meet Cute." (The Washington Independent Review of Books)

Kailyn Flowers was always calm, rational, and controlled—until she ended up sprawled all over Daxton Hughes, the former actor she totally crushed on as a teenager. Then she did the unthinkable: She became a mortifying fangirl in five seconds flat, which may or may not have included professing her undying love. And oddly, he didn't run away. In fact, their meet cute led to a friendship she never saw coming. Of course, she never saw his betrayal coming, either....

Now Dax needs her help. As guardian to his 13-year-old sister, he's in way over his head. And though Kailyn hasn't forgiven Dax, she isn't heartless enough to make him fend for himself, either. Soon their friendly meetings turn into flirty dinner dates, and Kailyn can feel their chemistry is as explosive as ever. But how can she possibly let down her guard again to a guy who has heartbreak written all over him?

Don't waste the credit.

This is by far the worst book I've listened to in a long time. Performance was fine, story was simplistic and predictable. This feels like it should be a young adult story except the unnecessary sex scenes.
This wasn't worth the credit.

Fun and lighthearted!

Enjoyed the story! Really enjoyed the narration! Thought the story could have almost been two plots in one, with the famous actor meets fangirl being one and the lawyer/custody storyline being another. Anyone else?

Enjoyable listen

Nice story, easy to listen to. Wasn’t a fan of the male voice for Dax; but that’s probably just me. He came across as cocky and as a result he kind of annoyed me a bit. Still enjoyed it though, worth a listen.

Loved this one. Was super cute. A cheesy romance like a great hallmark movie.

Some serious eye rolls but overall it was nice

Listened to this book in a day after I discovered I probably have to be in quarentine for yet another 14 days after potentially being exposed to covid. So thank you for giving something to fill my brain today.

I love the occasional flirty love story where single lonely girl meets her one and only true love. BUT I can't get over how the two main characters totally objectify each other. For two people who have earned their very successful lives they say and do some stupid stuff. Kaylin is a successful lawyer...... Yet also so so shallow when venting to her infitinely wiser best friend or thinking about her libido. Dax is equally shallow. He's your typical perfect looking wealthy man who always either has a beer in his hand or finding some excuse to be super mad. And he's famous to boot. The whole thing is a bit much to process. More like a fairy tale than something a single lonely girl can hope to obtain. Where the love story is involved it's like Netflix tried to remake an original version of Bridget Jones' Diary (which I might add is perfect and doesn't need remaking). I find both of the main characters' behaviours are inconsistent and don't quite reflect how the author might have intended. Smart, strong, kind is often flipped with obtuseness, alcohol, and pettiness (I say pettiness because when does either of these characters give a damn about their friends after dumping all their crap on them?)

The sincere essence of this books message about greif and bereavement is uplifting and on point. The portrayal of money hungry aunt preying on weak family members unfortunatly is also on point. Well done there.
