Publisher's Summary

With a foreword by Jann Arden.

On the morning of May 11, 2015, Erin Davis, one of Canada’s most beloved radio personalities, suffered a devastating blow when her daughter, Lauren, who had marked a joyous Mother’s Day with her husband and young son only hours before, failed to awaken to her baby’s cries.

Thus began Erin’s journey of grieving out loud with her family, friends, and listeners and of demonstrating by example how to pick up and keep going after suffering the worst loss a parent can endure.

For months after Lauren’s heart stopped beating, the reason for which the coroner said might never be known, Erin would awaken from a restless night’s sleep and look at the clock wondering, Is this the time she died? How could a mother sleep through the night when a part of herself had been torn from this life? How did my heart not stop, too? she wondered.

A Touching Journey Through Life & Loss

Growing Up listening to Erin Davis speak daily of her life with her listeners at CHFI, Erin has always been candid, open and honest with her listeners/ readers and this audio-book is no different. Erin herself brings her voice to this audio-book which brought it to life and makes it even more touching, creating such a distinct connection to her and their story!

She takes us through the lives of the Davis/Whitehead family from the joy of bringing her and Rob's "limited edition" into this world, watching her grow and flourish into the women and mother she was for too short a time, to how they have had to navigate the world they found themselves in without her.

This poignant autobiography touched on so many things that made me laugh, cry and at times reflect upon our own families losses along the way. Her understanding of her readers/listeners and how they would come to reflect and feel a common shared ache is uncanny.
Thank you Erin and Rob for continuing the share your lives, loss and purposeful living in the face of tragedy with us all!

Touches your soul

What an incredibly frank and ever so touching book made even more so by having it narrated by the author, Erin Davis. While it resonates to those who have experienced such heart wrenching grief, it also speaks to anyone who has gone through a life changing event which has rocked their world. I highly recommend!!!

Amazing novel truly heartbreaking

Erin Davis became my friend on
my long commute to work every morning as I listened to her on her morning radio show. She was so open about her family I felt I truly became a part of that family. When it was announced that her daughter had suddenly passed away I was heartbroken for her and her husband Rob. I shed tears for this young women who had grownup on the radio.
This novel was so raw as Erin recounted the horrible events. As I listened I again was in tears. What a courageous women to be so open and vulnerable about the tragic death.

A Story That Really Touched My Heart

Loved this audio book. There were several moments, one of those being the mention of 3 other of my favourite people; Olivia Newton-John, my favourite female singer ( who I was fortunate to see on stage at Casino Rama in 2012) Beth Neilson Chapman and Amy Sky, A bonus is hearing Erin narrate this audio book,
