Description

Struggling after the loss of your pet?

You may be wondering if it’s okay to feel so much grief for an animal. Alicia Smalls understands your pain. As a professional dog trainer, she came to understand the dynamic between pets and owners at a deep level. So much so, she became a grief counselor in private support groups for those who’ve suffered such a great loss.

  • Maybe you’ve found that even the people closest to you don’t understand how hard it is to lose a pet.
  • You might be asking if there’s a grief process for pets like there is for people.
  • Perhaps you need to find out how to also support other family members, especially children, through the aftermath of the loss.

You’re not alone, and you have come to the right place.

  • In this book you’ll learn about the roller coaster of emotions that you and your loved ones can expect to experience after the death of a beloved pet.
  • You’ll discover how best to handle your emotions as well as healthy coping mechanisms that will benefit you and the rest of your family - even your other pets.
  • You’ll learn the secrets of grief and how to eventually move forward with your life without your pet will be revealed to you.

Alicia Smalls pours all her knowledge and experience dealing with this complex issue into this audiobook and will take you on a journey of self-discovery and healing. If you want to understand how to move forward, this is the book for you.

Nothing new to me, nothing different from YouTube and online material

I was expecting to hear something more in depth.
This is more of a mantra of validation since we live in a world where grieving animals is looked down upon. So this is like reassuring you it’s normal and ok. I didn’t feel like I’ve gained something that I couldn’t find out there. It’s basically all os fine but go seek pro help if needed. It’s not a guide on how to navigate through. It gives a definition like a glossary explaining the stages with examples. I think the performance felt mechanical although there was an attempt to change tones but that didn’t touch me. I gave the story a 3 star coz it’s not a difficult story to understand, can open any chapter and it would be understood. I think it would be a great listen to a younger audience like below 15 probably. My only own opinion based on a full listen. This doesn’t mean I am right or the book is bas. This rating is based on what I experienced and shall not in anyway undermine the effort or question the legitimate of the author’s credibility. I carry much respect when it comes to such effort that is needed for people and I happened to not be one of them. My review doesn’t mean u should or u shouldn’t get it. I bear no responsibility about the choices. Best wishes to all

Comforting

If you lost an animal close to you, I highly recommend this book. The narrator has a nice soothing voice also.
