Publisher's Summary

Long-buried secrets. A devastating global conspiracy. And only one man who can stop it: Navy SEAL James Reece. From the “seriously good” (Lee Child) #1 New York Times bestselling author, Jack Carr.

In 1980, a freshman congressman was gunned down in Rhode Island, sending shockwaves through Washington that are still reverberating over four decades later.

Now, with the world on the brink of war and a weakened United States facing rampant inflation, political division, and shocking assassinations, a secret cabal of global elites is ready to assume control. And with the world’s most dangerous man locked in solitary confinement, the conspirators believe the final obstacle to complete domination has been eliminated. They’re wrong.

From the firms of Wall Street to the corridors of power in Washington, DC, and Moscow, secrets from the past have the uncanny ability to rise to the surface in the present.

With the odds stacked against him, James Reece is on a mission generations in the making. Unfortunately for his enemies, the former SEAL is not concerned with odds. He is on the warpath. And when James Reece picks up his tomahawk and sniper rifle, no one is out of range.

From “a master novelist” (Ballistic Magazine), “quintessential hero James Reece is exactly what’s needed in today’s chaotic political milieu” (K.J. Howe, author of Skyjack).

Absolutely Thrilling

I was ecstatic when I saw my pre-order had come in! The book DID NOT disappoint, well written, well thought out, and the best conclusion of all the loose threads floating under the storyline of the previous 5 books one could have dreamt of. Carr's ability to write modern-day reality into the fictional pages of a book always makes me smirk. It also makes you think, cannot wait for the next book!

Another great Jack Carr book

Jack Carr has the ability to put you into the scene he describes. The fights, car chases, the darkness of the prison and his internal monologs, all suck you into another classic thriller. Book 7, can't come soon enough!

Carr bores me now

Same old with an impossible hero doing absurd things. Used to enjoy these novels but as we see the CIA up close these days we realize it’s all BS. Most can’t do sh*t. As to the Russians come on. Good thrillers have to be a little bit believable. This wasn’t. Won’t be buying his novels anymore.

Another Fantastic novel

Carr continues his great series. Incredible narration. James Reese is a great character, with a twisting plot. Incredibly entertaining.

Great. Listen past the last chapter.

Then listen again. Enjoy, think, question what you don’t know. How much of this real? That is what makes this a great book.

best of the series ... up to now

if James Reece evolved in the series,; Jack Carr too. I liked every book of James Reece, but this one is amazing.
And Ray Porter is just from another planet. The guy could read the phone book and I will listen to it holding my breath.

Another instant classic

Very impressive writing and character struggles. The way JR battles his own demons is a great tribute to David Morrell's Rambo. It's definitely hard to pick a favorite out of Carr's novels, but this one is close.

Mr Carr’s politics are on display.

Stories are a great escape from the noise of today’s world. I am an action fiend and Carr’s stories are packed full of it. I have enjoyed keeping up on the world he’s created in his series. More and more his stories are also full of political opinion segments that remind me of watching news pieces on YouTube. I am not commenting on whether or not I agree or disagree with any of Carr’s opinions/positions…In fact I agree with many of what “his characters have to say”…I am just not a fan of hearing them during a fiction based escape from reality. For what it’s worth. And I get that these opinions are told via characters but I also have seen Carr interviewed in Rogan etc so know that he shares his characters views. All good…one man’s opinion.
