Description

After spending three London seasons searching for a husband, Daisy Bowman’s father has told her in no uncertain terms that she must find a husband. Now. And if Daisy can’t snare an appropriate suitor, she will marry the man he chooses - the ruthless and aloof Matthew Swift.

Daisy is horrified. A Bowman never admits defeat, and she decides to do whatever it takes to marry someone…anyone…other than Matthew. But she doesn’t count on Matthew’s unexpected charm…or the blazing sensuality that soon flares beyond both their control. And Daisy discovers that the man she has always hated just might turn out to be the man of her dreams.

But right at the moment of sweet surrender, a scandalous secret is uncovered…one that could destroy both Matthew and a love more passionate and irresistible than Daisy’s wildest fantasies.

Nice Finale to this series

This was a fantastic ending to the series. This one is just as good as the others and was romantic, funny and charming. I totally loved this series!

I liked the whole series...

Daisy is the last remaining single wallflower. She is a romantic dreamer. Her father is tired of spending money on her season with no results (finding a husband). So he tells her that she shall marry his protege Mathew who is back in the States. And that is the last man she wants to marry...

If you liked the previous books, you'll enjoy this one too. A very well written story with very good narration. There is some suspense and intrigue that keeps you guessing what the scandal is until the very end of the story so that for me was a plus too. Definitely worth a credit.

Daisy Blooms in Spring

Daisy had the least romantic story out of all the WallFlower’s.Too bad the author didn’t think to use the mysterious Gypsy man in her sister Lilian’s story that stole a steamy kiss from her in the parlor. That sounded like a sexy story.Well she got mild mannered Mathew instead.Keep the books available Daisy, you’ll need them.

Very nice.

Any additional comments?

This is the last of the romances of the wallflowers, and it is a very nice ending.

Having listened to all four, I think the first one is my favorite. I suppose I like the idea of a man having morals and character.

This installment was good. Much better than the third installment. The characters were likable and plausible. I was surprised with the man Daisy ended up with!

Anyway, the series was very good in the romantic genre.

Such a disappointment

Scandal in Spring is the final installment of the Wallflower series. For me the story of Daisy and Mr Shaw was woefully lacking in all aspects of passion, sexual tension and really a decent story line. Daisy was always my least favorite wallflower but I had hope her story would make her more interesting. Instead for me the whole story was flat. No suspense, no adventure, all we got was a secret so whatever that Mr. Shaw could not marry Daisy. I loved Devil in Winter it is probably one of the best romances I have ever read and the best wallflower book. If your looking for a terrific series by Lisa Kleypas look into the Ravenels series. As for this book I suggest you read it first to see if you want to invest in an audible edition.

Super ending

A lovely ending to a great series. The Wallflower Christmas is also a fun read...but to me this is the wrap up for the Wallflowers. Each book as terrific characters and lots of romance. Matthew is so perfect for Daisy and I adore her. I recommend this book and all the others in the series. Again...Lisa Kleypas and Rosalyn Landor are an unbeatable team.

ok story but fell short and felt rushed

I loved both Daisy and Matthew but their chemistry was lacking I couldn't buy into it. for being the last book of the series it felt kind of rushed and fell short as a book. I enjoyed seeing all the returning characters. I've read to other series by LK and there seems to be a pattern of a weak story for the last book of each series.

I Really Liked This Series

I recommend it. The joining of these two main characters in marriage is something no one can imagine. If you've read the Wallflowers series, you'll know why.

Truly enjoyed this book and of course Rosalyn Landor is wonderful.

Not the best fo the series

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Not really, except that I couldn't really connect with Daisy as a woman, she seemed too childlike. I'm not sure if that's the book or the voice but there was something missing.

What three words best describe Rosalyn Landor’s performance?

Constant, well prepared, slightly annoying. I hated her American accent, I think it really detracted from the experience, and Lillian sounded like an old woman or a grumpy headmistress at an all boys boarding school. It made it really hard to sympathize with her and her opinions.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

I think so. If only to see what they did with it.

Any additional comments?

I really recommend the third in the series, the devil in winter (a devil in winter?), not quite sure what the title was. It was my favorite.
