Story
There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

Dr. Tyson Klein is a quantum physicist who has dedicated his entire life to his research. At CERN, he analyses data generated by the Large Hadron Collider, the world's biggest and most powerful particle accelerator. Now, Ty believes he's found a pattern in its output. Story
From the Audie-nominated narrator of The Martian. In eleven years' time, a million members of an alien race will arrive at Earth. Years before they enter orbit, their approach will be announced by the flare of a thousand flames in the sky, their ships' huge engines burning hard to slow them from the vast speeds needed to cross interstellar space. These foreboding lights will shine in our night sky like new stars, getting ever brighter until they outshine even the sun, casting ominous shadows and banishing the night until they suddenly blink out.

Story
Joe Tournier has a bad case of amnesia. His first memory is of stepping off a train in the 19th-century French colony of England. The only clue Joe has about his identity is a century-old postcard of a Scottish lighthouse that arrives in London the same month he does. Written in illegal English - instead of French - the postcard is signed only with the letter 'M', but Joe is certain whoever wrote it knows him far better than he currently knows himself and he’s determined to find the writer.
Written by: Natasha Pulley
Publisher's Summary
Nothing ever changes in Sanders. The town's still got a video store, for God's sake.
So why doesn't Eli Teague want to leave?
Not that he'd ever admit it, but maybe he's been waiting - waiting for the traveler to come back. The one who's roared into his life twice before, pausing just long enough to drop tantalizing clues before disappearing in a cloud of gunfire and a squeal of tires. The one who's a walking anachronism, with her tricorne hat, flintlock rifle, and steampunked Model A Ford.
The one who's being pursued by...something.
So when the mysterious traveler finally reappears, Eli's determined that this time, he's going to get some answers. But his hunt soon yields far more than he bargained for, plunging him headlong into a dizzying world full of competing factions and figures straight out of legend.
To make sense of the mystery at its heart, he must embark on a breakneck chase across the country and through two centuries of history - with nothing less than America's past, present, and future at stake.

Ug, when you get to the actual, main premise you realize it's ridiculous. Performance was great, but premise is just silly.

Seemed like a great idea that never really delivered. Ray Porter was great, just like the Bobiverse books, but this story never really delivered. There were a few good moments but overall it was a bit of a bore.

Sorry... but no
Started the novel without reading too many reviews and wanted to make up my own mind.
Now after having returned the book with over 8 hours to go, I've read some more detailed reviews and I have to agree with most.
Starts super interesting and had me going "ooohhh, where is this story heading??", then slowly but surely the fluff just got too much. I actually found myself pausing the book and perusing for others.
So yeah, any Peter Clines fans... I would suggest skipping this one or waiting till you get a deal on it.

Great storyline, amazing performance but…
I really enjoyed listening to the performance. The author did a great job to make the characters relatable and the story interesting. The narration is perfect. The only thing that bothered me at different points of the story was the perception that the author has never left the US or thought about the world outside of the US as significant or interesting. Especially silly looks limiting the phenomena to the US borders at the time and the US citizenship. Discounting this the story is great I had great time listening to it.
